PACKERS IMPROVE TO 10-1, A BUSY DAY AT THE MALL

The Green Bay Packers improved to 10-1 on the season yesterday with a 37-26 win over the Lions setting up next Thursday nights showdown with the 10-1 Dallas Cowboys who beat the Jets yesterday. The Packers started off a bit slow yesterday in the 1st quarter before they turned things around however the Packers did suffer some injuries to some key players. The Richmond Renegades had a rough night in Fayetteville, NC last night losing to the FireAntz 6-2, the same two teams will meet at the Richmond Coliseum tonight. In the poll on Mickey's Place to see who is going to win this weeks showdown between Virginia and Virginia Tech the Virginia Cavaliers picked up 55% of the vote while Virginia Tech picked up 44% of the vote, GO CAVS. Also tonight the Virginia basketball team will be back in action on the road tonight against the Pennsylvania Quakers. I hate to even think about going down to the Southpark Mall area today but I am sure I am going to have to for work a little bit later, maybe all th people who got up 4am or 5am will have gone by the time I get there. What a difference a day makes, yesterday it was 76 and today it isn't even suppose to make it to 49. I might have to do some extra running this afternoon because I think I might have ate to much yesterday. MICKEY

Health Tip: Eat Healthy When You Eat Out
When it's time to eat out, you may think it's too difficult to stick to a diet or to watch those calories.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which offers these eating-out tips, begs to differ:

* Order water, skim milk, unsweetened tea, or other drinks low in sugar and calories.
* Order a small salad as an appetizer, which will help fill you up before the main meal.
* Order salad dressings and other fattening sauces on the side.
* Order entrees that include vegetables.
* Order dishes that are steamed, baked or broiled, not fried.
* Order a small or medium-sized portion -- or even a children's meal -- instead of a regular adult portion.
* Order something from the menu, instead of visiting the all-you-can eat buffet.

Calm your thoughts
Have you ever noticed how much your own thinking can often interfere with your awareness? You've probably had the experience of failing to hear what someone is saying to you because you're busy thinking of how to answer them.

There is a time for thinking, for questioning and judgment, for analyzing and strategizing, and there is a time for opening yourself up to experience the world around you. You are well equipped to think, and you are also equipped to listen, to feel, to see, to experience.

Thoughts can be powerful. The absence of thoughts can be powerful as well. Many things are annoying, for example, simply because you think they're annoying. What grand and beautiful things might lie hidden underneath the relentless noise of your own thoughts?

Pursue your thoughts with vigor, and when the situation calls for it, let your thoughts be still. Strength and wisdom come not only from excitement and complexity, but also from a quiet and peaceful awareness of what is.
