POST 284 FALLS TO NEW YORK 14-12

Colonial Heights Post 284 put up a good fight last night but in the end just ran out of pitching falling to Scotia, New York 14-12. It seemed like every time CH would have a big inning that Scotia would answer with one of there own. In 2nd game of the evening South Richmond Post 137 beat Boyertown 8-4 ending Boyertown's 44 game winning streak. In today's action at 1pm Edison, NJ will face Boyertown, PA and at 7pm South Richmond will face Scotia, NY. In NFL preseason action last night the Packers were anything but impressive falling to the 49ers 34-6, I know it's preseason but there is no they should lose to them that bad. The Redskins stayed perfect in the preseason with a 13-10 win over the Jets and this was a very ugly game. Carl Edwards won yesterdays Nationwide race at Michigan, Clint Boyer continues to lead the Nationwide point standings by 113 over Edwards and 132 over Brad Keselowski. After the race in a post race dyno test it was discovered that the #18 & #20 cars of Joe Gibbs Racing had placed magnets under the accelerator to alter the dyno test. Nascar said "This was an attempt to interfere with NASCAR's post-race inspection process, and we are taking it very seriously," said Jim Hunter of Nascar, he said that a penalty would be announced next week. There is a new Tropical Storm that has formed which could bring us some much needed rain late next week, the name of the storm is Fay and it is center of the storm is expected to track west of central Virginia but the effects of storm could bring us some rain. I understand that Colonial Heights #1 fan and fellow blogger Andrew will be arriving at the beach today for a weeks stay, maybe mom & dad can get him to posts some comments on the blog or may become a former blogger in the future. One of the best ways to save gas is to simply reduce your speed. As speed increases, fuel economy decreases exponentially. If you one of the "ten-over on the freeway" set, try driving the speed limit for a few days. You'll save a lot of fuel and your journey won't take much longer. (Just be sure you keep to the right, so you won't impede the less-enlightened.

Experts who study exercise science have uncovered some fundamental principles that tend to apply across the board to the way the human body responds and adapts to physical activity. Athletes who understand and apply these principles have a much better chance of getting the most from any exercise program. These rules are often referred to as the principles of conditioning and include:

1. The Principle Of Individual Differences
2. The Principle of Overload
3. The Principle of Progression
4. The Principle of Adaptation
5. The Principle of Use/Disuse
6. The Principle of Specificity
