IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE HEADING TO THE BEACH THIS WEEKEND

Well it looks like I will be heading down to Kill Devil Hills this weekend after all. Since I was unable to secure a ticket to the USC at Virginia game and Ricky decided not to go to Charlotte to see the ECU vs Virginia Tech I will be heading to the beach Saturday morning. The only good thing about not going to either game is that I will be able see both of them on TV although I would like to be at one of them. I would leave for the OBX on Friday but I am going to see the Colonials play at home on Friday night against Thomas Jefferson. I ran into former blogger George on Monday in Short Pump, he said all is well with the family and he does check the blog out when he can, he says he still on dial up so it takes a while to get on the WWW. Mom is a bit under the weather with some type of stomach flu, I won't get into the details but hopefully she will be feeling better today. I cant believe it but it's actually raining here in Colonial Heights this morning and there is 60% chance of rain both today & tomorrow, we need all we can get. There is another Tropical Storm out there named Gustav and the storm appears to be headed to the Gulf of Mexico and it appears it will become a pretty strong Hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and it very like to cause oil prices to skyrocket. My Pain index is up a bit more this morning because I didn't sleep well last night. MICKEY

Do a Random Interval Workout
Pick a landmark in the distance, such as a tree or a stop sign, and pick up the pace until you get to it. After you recover for a minute or two, choose another landmark and speed up again.

Momentum
When you've gone a little ways, keep going a little ways more. When you've made some progress, use that progress to make some more.

Multiply the power of your actions with momentum. Once you get yourself going, follow through on the commitment and keep yourself going.

Often, the most difficult part of a task is the act of getting started. The fewer times you have to go through that process of starting yourself back up, the more you can get accomplished.

When you've enjoyed one success, that's the best time to start working on another success. Once you have momentum on your side, take full advantage of it.

One of the biggest benefits of achievement is that it opens up the door for greater achievement. Even a small success is a big deal, because of where it can lead.

Get yourself going and then keep yourself going. And from there, you can go anywhere.
