Should this Man be in the Wiffle Ball Hall of Fame?

Every year at this time, the wiffle ball community is faced with this difficult decision. Should Mark's numbers speak for themself and pave his way into the Hall or should he be penalized for pulling his team from the field in the heat of the contest in the now memorable "hiney ball" game therby banning him for life from the Hall
One may argue that Mark is the victim here, it was not Mark who threw the bean ball the initiated the above mentioned "hiney ball" incident, he was actually recipient of the pitch.
I believe as my dad stated in his blog entry below, it is time to put this issue to rest one way or the other. Someone needs to lay out all the facts so an independent arbitrator can make an honest assessement as to whether Mark enters the Hall or NOT.

something is fishy about this post from the get go!! doesn't sound like ANDREW posted it at all!! who's behind the push to get mark into the hall of fame? why wouldn't you use your true identity?

and why is the poll sponsored by someone named annonymous coward.

I THINK DAD HAS BEEN VERY HONORABLE IN HIS DECISION TO LEAVE MARK OUT OF THE HALL.

i'm with mickey!!

I'm not going to get involved.

The heine ball pitch slipped out of my hand and Mark overreacted.

Both heine ballpitches slipped from my hand. My intention was to move Mark off the plate. My control was erratic. I still think Mark needs to show remorse for the incident.

Would it have been better if Mark raced to the mound and attacked the pitcher? Maybe he was just showing control as not to cause a huge brawl?

that would have been extremely stoopid mel, you know that.

Where is Mark? mark is harder to find than Waldo. I agree with Scott comment above.I guess Mark is boycotting the blog.Evidently , He has to have a girl speak for him.I guess Melanie forgot when Mark didn't want her on his football team and I took her and she scored the winning touchdown aginst the awesome trio of mark, Keith, and Al in the famous snow bowl game.

I remember Bobby - and I appreciate you letting me on your team and that you saw I was a gifted athlete.

In regards to the famous heiny ball incident - I am only adding situations to consider as an uninterested party. I am not taking sides on the who is the right. I will say I have always found Bobby to be thoughtful and fair.

I agree with melanie. Also, the Wellington dukes exhibed very poor spotmanship when Melanie caught the winning touchdown pass.If i recall, mark would have pulled his team off the fiels if the game had not ended on that play.Mickey was the other teammate on the Holly Berry team.

I am considering asking the honorable les fryar, who is fair and balanced, especially when standing on both feet, to serve as an impartial arbitrator concerning mark, and the wiffle ball hall of fame eligibility including the heine ball incident. what do the fellow blog members think of this proposal?

he needs an astrict by his name

* No integrity, pulled team off field in the heat of the battle, no remorse How's that Lee

in these days of political correctness, we need someone like bobby to make a stand. you bobby are a true patriot. we don't need to relax the rules just to get new members. the most important thing for induction into the hall is integrity. and if that means having only one member, then so be it.

*Claire, sounds a whole lot like Bobby

Claire has moved from the ranks of the undecided.I also checked with the Elias Howe Sports Bureau who maintains statistics for the wiffle ball league and found that Keith was a lifetime .187 hitter in the wiffle ball league.Scott ,you always have a sense of truth and straight forwardness especially when you identified the Yorkshire Rd. wiffle ball league as a rogue minor league and silenced the organizer of that league on this blog.Scott is a great American.

Another prime reason to get an arbitrator to sort through the truth.

Dad reported that the Elias Howe Sports Burea told him that I was a lifetime .187 wiffle ball hitter. I also checked with the Elias Howe Sports Bureau and discovered that is not true. They had me as a .781lifetime hitter, which is third on the all time list behind Dad (top spot at .813), and some guy I never heard from Mobile, AL James "The Conferderate General" Lee (his average was .803).

Either Dad mis-wrote the Avg (an honest mistake to transpose the #s) or it was Dad's attempt to change the truth.

Keith is right . An honest mistake.Maybe it was Mark who had the .187 Avg.If I recall, he didn't even wish his longtime teammate a happy birthday last week. What's going on.He didn't have to put up with J.P.Tree the tall leftfielder at Duke Stadium, which has now became a back yard.where is Waldo.....I mean Mark. Has he gone the way of some other bloggers who can't take the truth.

there are and were several bloggers who just can't take the pressure when the truth is exposed. i never thought a grown man with major league whiffle ball potential could pout so much and turn his back on his friends. i guess thats the way it's done on yorkshire.

Scott is like the 4th son i never had.

Since the selection comittee has not rec'd any acknowledgement of remorse from Mark for his dispicible behavior as owner, manager, and player for the Wellington Dukes, no one will be added to the wiffle ball hall of fame for 2008.If Mark wishes to show remorse in the future, it can be done through the committee's law firm , Wiiiy, Cheatham ,and Howe.
