OCTOBER COMES IN WITH A BANG

I don't know about you but I was woke up last night at midnight last night as October came in with a bang with some pretty severe thunderstorms. There was some heavy rain, frequent cloud to ground lighting and even some small hail ans the lightning put on quite a light show. The Major League Baseball playoffs start today with Milwaukee visiting Philadelphia & Los Angeles visiting the Cubs in the National League and in the American League today Boston will be at Anaheim and tomorrow the White Sox will be at Tampa Bay. I will be rooting for the Cubs and the Rays. I went up saw the Colonials volleyball team in action last night and the Colonials came away with two wins, the boys won 3-0 while the girls team picked up a 3-2 victory. My PAIN index has improved a bit this morning because after the t-storm last night a slept like a rock. Al & Donna cam by to eat with us last night and we all went down to Applebee's and I have to say it was pretty good. I have everybody's college football picks with the exception of Lee, he must be studying who he wants to pick. MICKEY

The secret of good relations is to adopt the same attitude with everyone you meet: a winning attitude.

Protecting Your Remote Control
If you have kids you can prevent gooey and dirty hands from gumming up your remote control by placing it in a ziplock bag. They can still see the controls but can't gum up the buttons.

Preventing a Side Stitch
To prevent a side stitch, take even, deep breaths while running. Shallow breathing tends to increase the risk of cramping because the diaphragm is always slightly raised and never lowers far enough to allow the ligaments to relax. When this happens the diaphragm becomes stressed and a spasm or "stitch" is more likely.
