I HAD TO PUT MY STOCKING HAT ON THIS MORNING

With the temperature at dropping to 48.2 this morning I had to put my stocking hat on this morning and it appears I will have to keep my hat out for a while as the lows will drop into the 40's the next few days. I guess fall has finally arrived. In the MLB playoffs yesterday the Phillies, Dodgers and Red Sox all won game 1 of there respective series, the Tampa Bay vs Chicago Whit Sox begins tonight. Don't forget that it will be Homecoming tomorrow night for Colonial Heights High School and the Colonials will be facing Dinwiwiddie at 7:30pm. My allergies are acting up a bit again this morning because I cut the grass again yesterday afternoon and I got bit by a few mosquitoes as well which has caused my PAIN index to remain about the same. Lee did send in his picks last night so I will be sending out who everybody picked later today. MICKEY

Some ways to alleviate the pain of a side stitch include:

* Time your eating. Having food in your stomach during a workout may increase cramping by creating more force on the ligaments (avoid eating one to two hours before a workout)
* Stretching may prevent or relieve a cramp. Raise your right arm straight up and lean toward the left. Hold for 30 seconds, release, then stretch the other side.
* Slow down your pace until pain lessens.
* Breathe deep to stretch the diaphragm.
* Drink before exercise; dehydration can increase muscle cramps.
* Massage or press on the area with pain. Bend forward to stretch the diaphragm and ease the pain.
* * If you continue to experience pain, see your doctor.
