WEATHER IMPROVING

Well after some sweltering heat in Colonial Heights for about a week some cooler temps will arrive today, for the the next three days the temps will be in the upper 80's before returning to the lower 90's by Saturday. It appears that it's going to be long dry summer here in Colonial Heights. My Pain index is on the rise this morning after throwing batting practice for first time in about three weeks, my arm is a bit sore and I have a blood blister on my right middle finger. The tomato situation looks to improve today when the FDA says that Florida tomatoes are safe to eat, the tomato industry there said they could lose $40 million if they had to stop picking them for a week and that would cause you to have to pay more at the store for them. Sunscreen Myth
Do you need to use sunscreen if you have dark skin or already have a tan? Yes, everyone should use a broad spectrum sunscreen all of the time when they are going to be out in the sun. Even people with deeply pigmented skin, who rarely burn, should use sunscreen. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 'everybody, regardless of race or ethnicity, is subject to the potential adverse effects of overexposure to the sun.'1 So use sunscreen, no matter your race or ethnic origin, or whether or not you already have a tan, because it is a myth that people with dark skin don't need sunscreen.
