THE LAST DAY OF EXTREME HEAT

Well it looks like today will be the last day of extreme heat here in Colonial Heights for a while, after todays high between 99-100 it will be in the upper 80's for the rest of the week. The upper 80's will feel like a cold snap after having some many day at a 100 or better and there is chance of t-storms as well the next few days. Well the field is now set for the College Baseball World Series with the addition of LSU & Fresno State joining the other 6 teams I mentioned in yesterdays blog entry, the CWS starts Saturday. I have enclosed an inspirational video that I got of ESPN on high school athlete, the kit has a good attitude about a bad situation. Well we went to Cracker Barrel last night and much to my dismay they didn't have any tomatoes in my salad because of a
salmonella outbreak, most all of the fast foot restaurants & grocery stores have pulled them now. There seems to be a bit of confusion at allot of the schools & restaurants that I deliver to, the health department has been sending mixed signals in some localities about the use of tomatoes. Sunscreen Fact
You should apply your sunscreen 15-30 minutes before you are going to be exposed to the sun. Since it takes time for the sunscreen to be absorbed by your skin, you should apply it in advance. If you wait until you are already outside or until you show signs of getting red, then you will have a longer period of being unprotected and will be more at risk for getting a sunburn.
