HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, VIRGINIA NOW 2-0 IN THE ACC

Well today your blog master is 41 and I fell like am fifty, it just seems like yesterday that I turned 40 and an unknown individual put a sign in my front yard telling everybody it. It was cold 52 degrees in Colonial Heights this morning, I almost had to put my shoes when I went out to get the paper. Well I went down to Greenville, NC yesterday to see the East Carolina Pirates fall to the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles 28-21, the Pirates were trailing 14-0 at the half and rallied for a 21-14 lead before Southern Miss scored the games final 14 points to pull out the victory. Needless to say there were allot of unhappy East Carolina fans at the end of the game. The Virginia Cavaliers are now 2-0 in the ACC with there 22-20 victory over UNC yesterday & have could be 3-0 in the ACC with a win over Georgia Tech next weekend. Also yesterday Virginia Tech beat Ohio University 28-7 and Georgia stepped out of the SEC and pummeled Western Carolina 45-16. The nations longest losing streak also ended last night at 22 as the Duke Blue Devils knocked of Northwestern 20-14, how about those Blue Devils. The Green Bay Packers will be in New York today to play the Giants & the Redskins will play in Philadelphia Monday night against the Eagles. In local baseball action yesterday the Richmond Braves won the Governors' Cup by beating Durham twice yesterday, the Braves will play Sacramento, the Pacific Coast League champ, Tuesday in a one-game playoff -- dubbed the Bricktown Showdown -- in Oklahoma City. The game will be televised by ESPN2 starting at 8 p.m. Well I guess I better go for a birthday run. MICKEY
