STORM KNOCKS OUT POWER

Even though last nights storm was now where near as last weeks lightning show we lost power here in Colonial Heights for about 45 minutes. Apparently some trees fell on a line somewhere which caused the outage according to Virginia Power. The outage wasn't that widespread here in CH because AL & DONNA never lost power. Kurt Busch won yesterdays Nextel Cup race at Michigan which had been rain delayed since Sunday holding off Martin Truex for the victory. This weekend they will visit the always exciting Bristol Motor Speedway where I am sure some tempers will flair. The new kitchen is really starting to look like a kitchen again, there is stuff actually in the cabinets now, the only problem I am having so far is finding out where everything is in the cabinets. The have really made good progress on the new room the last two days, hopefully that progress will continue. MICKEY

Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you're not really losing it. You're just passing it on to someone else.

It happened in the fifth inning at 8:51 p.m. on a 3-2, 96-mph fastball. Ryan’s accomplishment prompted a one-minute, 25-second standing ovation from the sellout crowd of 42,869 at Arlington Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
