LAST OF EXTREME HEAT

It looks like today will be the last day of the extreme heat which has hit the CH area the last couple of weeks. Today it is suppose to top out at about 99 but after today it is going to be in the upper 80's to low 90's threw at least Tuesday. We also picked up a couple of rain showers last last night which we really needed. The CH Optimist will play the CBC Nationals tonight in the semi-finals of the BIB Tournament, in the other game it will be Tidewater against the CBC Americans. The Nascar Nextel Cup Series & Busch Series will be racing at Watkins Glen this weekend on the road course. This week to me has flown by for some reason, maybe the heat was messing with my mind. Keith will be heading back from Detroit today after another tough week of government work. My back is a little sore today so my AIP index has been elevated a bit. MICKEY

Feeling rundown? We bet an old gym-class standby can make you feel like a kid again. Skipping rope as part of your exercise routine burns a surprising number of calories and provides a great workout for your shoulders, arms and calves. It's fast-paced, varied and, best of all, you can do it anywhere!

1833 - Chicago, Illinois was incorporated on this day, not as a city, but as a village. The Windy City had a population of less than 200 at the time.
1869 - O.B. Brown of Malden, MA patented the motion-picture projector. Unfortunately, there were no films yet available. Popcorn was around, however.
1973 - For the first time in his golfing career, Arnold Palmer failed to make the cut for the final two rounds of the PGA Golf Championship. This one was in Cleveland, OH.
1986 - Billy Martin’s uniform number 1 was retired by the New York Yankees. He was the 13th Yankee great to receive the honor.

Itt is my ujderstanding that the fellow blogger, sometimes known ass the big kuhuna, was not breaking into his car but was in fact taping the broken window up that would not stay up to keep out the rain.
