VIRGINIA FALLS TO MISSISSIPPI 4-3 IN 12 INNINGS, OLD TIMERS NIGHT WITH THE GERNERALS

The Virginia Cavalier baseball team lost to Mississippi yesterday 4-3 in 12 innings, the Cavaliers now must win the next 2 games to advance to the College Baseball World Series in Omaha. The Cavs simply didn't play well enough to win yesterday, if they wan't keep there season going they must play much better today. The East Carolina baseball team will open up there best of 3 series today at North Carolina, the Pirates can hit with anybody but I don't know if they have enough pitching to get by UNC. They will be having Old Timers Night with the Petersburg Generals tonight, the Generals will welcome any former players that competed with the team throughout its lengthy history, that does include DAD who will be in attendance. Andrews Little League game was rained out again yesterday and they will try to play again today at Noon and I have to say that is very questionable with the amount of rain we had yesterday and the lack of sun this morning here in the area. Qualifying was rained out at Pocono yesterday so points leader Tony Stewart will start from the pole for this weeks race. Also they will play game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight in Detroit, the series is a 2 games a piece. I did get some donuts from Wal-Mart this morning and I have say they weren't the best ones that I have ever had, for some reason there has been some inconsistancly in them lately. MICKEY

Whether it is an aerodynamic bike wheel, blister-resisting socks, a heart rate monitor or shaped skis, taking advantage of the technology that is available in your sport can often help save seconds or improve your accuracy. Hoos need to bounce back today. I thought they should of won yesterday. Still don't understand that kid swinging at 3-0 pitch in top of 12. Granted he drove it pretty well, but the pitcher was not anywhere close on the previous 3 pitches. Oh well that's baseball. We'll see you at the ballpark
