PACKERS WIN 24-19, A SAD DAY IN COLONIAL HEIGHTS

The Green Bay Packers kicked the season of right last night defeating the Minnesota Vikings 24-19 at Lambeau Field. Aaron Rodgers ran and threw for a touchdown for the Packers in his debut as Packers QB, next week the Packers will travel to Detroit. In high school football action at the beach last night the First Flight Nighthawks improved to 3-0 with a 10-7 win over arch rival Manteo, it was the 1st time that First Flight has ever beaten Manteo in football. It was a very sad day here in Colonial Heights yesterday afternoon when a 16 year Colonial Heights High School student apparently drown while swimming with friends on Archer Avenue. Due to conditions on the river from recent rains there was extremely strong current on the river and so far Fire & EMS crews have not been able to recover the body, they will resume there search for this individual this morning at 9am, just very sad. It's really going to feel like fall here in Colonial Heights tomorrow with a high on only 70 but it will be back in the mid 80's by the end of the week. I think I might go check out the Colonials volleyball team in action tonight. MICKEY
