Well the effects of Hanna arrived in Colonial Heights last night and continue to effect the area with some heavy rain and some wind gusts. Looking at the radar it looks like it is going to rain for a few more hours before it tappers off. I think we are going to get more rain here in CH than they get down in Kill devil Hills. The rain has forced Nascar to cancel last nights Nationwide Race and tonights Sprint Cup race as well, both races will now be run on Sunday with the Sprint Cup race at 1pm and the Nationwide race at 7pm. In high school football action last night Crawford County fell to Westover 16-12 while down at the beach First Flight vs Manteo game has postponed until Monday because of Hanna. I will be hading down to see the East Carolina Pirates face the West Virginia Mountaineers this afternoon, it looks like Hanna will be out of the Greenville, NC area by the 4:30pm kickoff. Also today UVA will try to pick up its 1st win of the year when the Richmond Spiders come to town, it will not easy win for the Cavs. The Georgia Bulldogs will face Central Michigan today, I have posted all the other games in this weeks college football contest below. I saw a fellow blogger directing traffic on the BLVD last night in the rain and it looked like he was getting pretty wet. I did make it down to Wal-Mart despite the effects of Tropical Storm Hanna and yes I got pretty wet. I just checked the rain gauge at North Elementary and since midnight we have had 1.01 inches of rain here in CH. Just a quick note part time blogger A.G. will be working the UCONN at Temple games today in Philadelphia, I got a feeling he is going to get very wet today. MICKEY
