RENEGADES AT HOME AGAIN TONIGHT

The Richmond Renegades will meet the Fayetteville FireAntz tonight at the RC, the Gades will be going for there 3rd straight win. There is no love loss between these two team and the game are usually pretty physical, the Gades however still will not have the services of there two tough guys Goody & Sicard. It was a tough night for both the Colonial Heights boys and girls basketball teams against Thomas Dale last night, the boys team played well but fell to the Knights 65-56 and the girls team fell 67-36. Next up for both teams will be Meadowbrook on Thursday for the girls and Friday for the boys team. Well all the Christmas decorations are back up in the attic for another year, dad finished taking all the stuff down yesterday. My AIP has been elevated to to my right hip hurting a bit this morning to go along with my foot still being pretty sore. Also I almost forgot to mention that the Redskins will be looking for a new coach as coach Joe Gibbs stepped down yesterday. MICKEY

Health Tip: Low-Sodium Meals
Sodium (salt) is a contributing factor to high blood pressure, and too much in one's diet can be dangerous, especially for those with heart disease. Here are suggestions on how to prepare meals with less sodium, courtesy of the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute: * Avoid adding extra salt to your food when you eat it. * Reduce the amount of salt that you use when you cook. Use fresh herbs instead. * Don't salt the water used to boil rice or pasta. * Avoid using packets of sauce or seasoning. They are usually high in sodium. * Use fresh foods and ingredients when you can. Prepackaged or processed foods often contain a lot of sodium.

1981 - Hockey Hall of Famer, Phil Esposito, said he would call it quits as a hockey player after the New York Rangers-Buffalo Sabres hockey game. It was a game that seemed like it might never end -- both teams skated to a 3-3 tie. Esposito quit the New York Rangers and went on to become General Manager and coach of the Rangers. Phil Esposito played for the Boston Bruins when he won the Hart Memorial Trophy for Most Valuable Player in the NHL in 1969 and 1974 and helped lead the Bruins to two Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972.
1984 - “WHERE’S THE BEEF?” Clara Peller was first seen by TV viewers this day in the famous and successful commercial campaign for Wendy’s fast-food chain. Dave Thomas spent $8 million on the ads that promoted hamburger sales plus T-shirts, baseball caps, records, greeting cards and countless other items bearing the picture of the elderly cult star.
1986 - Kodak got out of the instant camera business after 10 years. A nasty court battle didn’t go their way. The court claimed that Kodak copied Polaroid patents. Sixteen million camera owners were offered free stock, coupons or a replacement camera.
