GIANTS END PACKERS SEASON, RENEGADES WIN 7TH STRAIGHT

The New York Giants ended the Green Bay Packers season last night defeating the Packers 23-20 in OT. The Giants simply played better than the Packers all night and the Packers were probably pretty lucky the score was as close as it was. The Giant defense played extremely well down the stretch and I have to say Manning had a much better game than Favre. The Giants will meet the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, the Patriots beat the Charges 21-12 in the AFC Championship game. The Patriots are already 14 point favorites but I will be rooting for the Giants for sure. The Richmond Renegades won there 7th straight game yesterday beating the Twin City Cyclones 5-3, the Gades are now off until Friday night when they travel to Knoxville. I have posted a link to some basketball photos below that Al took at Andrew's basketball game on Saturday. It is very cold here in Colonial Heights this morning, at 6am the temp is 12.2 whic is to cold for me. My gout has been acting up the last few days, I have taken some more medicine but so far it hasn't kicked in. I am going to try to get back to the DR sometime this week to see if he can change the type of medicine I am taking for the gout. Don't forget today is a holiday so all you people who work for the government or schools are off today. MICKEY

Fitness Tip
Stretch the truth. Researchers in Quincy, MA found that beginning exercisers on a 10-week program who did simple 20 second stretches after their weight training gained an average of 19% more strength than subjects who did not stretch. And they were taller too (Just kidding).

Strengthening your beliefs
To strengthen your beliefs and assumptions, challenge them regularly. You'll rid yourself of those outdated assumptions that hold you back, while at the same time strengthening those valuable beliefs that can move you forward.

There is no doubt that challenge builds strength. It is a key theme of life.

Muscles that are challenged to lift heavier and heavier loads become stronger as a result of the training. Minds that are challenged to solve more and more difficult problems become increasingly adept from the experience.

Questioning and challenging your beliefs can transform them from mere beliefs into absolute certainties. The willingness to challenge a belief demonstrates your commitment to, and confidence in that belief.

By being your own most effective skeptic, you add real depth and substance to your beliefs, perspectives and assumptions. By continuing to ask why and why not, you learn much and grow stronger.

When you challenge your beliefs, you compel yourself to make them a reality. You transform them from vague concepts into living, breathing certainties upon which you can build great value.

I'm glad some people can be off today. Some hardworking people like
les , Claire ,Mick ,and I don't have that luxury.Too many important things that need to be done.

Tke Packer loss reminds me of the embarassing drubbing Mark Carsley and I gave the highly touted duo of CHHS stars of Keith Goulder and David Glass behind the woodshed in a basketball game of 100 some 29 years ago.

Don't remember that one
