VIRGINIA WIN 7-4 IN 13 INNINGS

The Virginia Cavalier baseball team is just 1 win away to advancing to next weekends NCAA Baseball Super Regionals with last night 7-4 victory over Oregon State in 13 innings in front of a Davenport Stadium record crowd of 3,212. The Cavaliers will play the winner of the Rutgers vs Oregon St game tonight at 6pm weather permitting, there is allot of rain here in state of Virginia this morning. The East Carolina Pirates didn't fair as well yesterday against UNC, the Pirates were leading 10-8 going into the bottom of the 9th inning before giving up three run in the bottom of the 9th and losing 11-10 to UNC. The Pirates will play Western Carolina today with the winner advancing on to play UNC later today. VCU was washed at Myrtle Beach yesterday and they will play St Johns today with the winner advancing to a game later today. In the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs the Ottawa Senators picked up there 1st win of the series against Anaheim 5-3, they now trail the Ducks 2-1 in the series. Carl Edwards won yesterdays Busch race at Dover holding off Denny Hamlin for the win, the Nextel Cup cars are suppose to race at Dover today but they are having the same rain we are having here in CH and it is very doubtful they will get todays race in. I have enclosed a photo of Lou Piniella kicking his hat after he was tossed in yesterdays game against Atlanta, I thought he showed good form. Andrews LL team won there playoff game in the last inning, they will play again later this week. MICKEY

He should be glad today if he still has a job. He wentway overboard.

I did like the how the home plate umpire just stood there when Wellman threw the mock grenade (i.e. resin bag)at him.
