COLONIALS COME FROM BEHIND TO WIN, I HAVE A BAD COLD

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team came from behind to win 8-7 over Manchester yesterday at Shepherd Stadium. The Colonials entered the bottom of the 5th inning trailing 7-2 before rallying for 5 runs in the 5 inning to tie the game at 7 and got 1 more run in the bottom of the 7th inning with two outs to complete the comeback and win the game 8-7. Jordan Reeves got the game winning hit, a single threw the right side of the infield, JD McCarty hit a solo HR, and Brett Draper had 2b and 3 RBI's. Jeff Kidd picked up the win on the mound and I have to say there several other players who made some key contributions to the game, it was a total team effort for sure. The Colonials next game is at home on Thursday at 5pm against Maggie Walker GS. The Thomas Dale Knights will be back in action tonight at Lee Davis. The Virginia Cavalier basketball team will be at home tonight against the Richmond Spiders in the College Basketball Invitational, this is the 1st year this tournament has ever been held. My PAIN index has been elevated due to the fact I have a pretty bad cold and a bit of a sore throat, nothing is tasting to good right now. MICKEY

LEADERSHIP TIP, from Joe Farcht
Living / Working for a Worthy Cause: Every highly successful person I know championed a worthy cause in lifetimes. For example:

• Eleanor Roosevelt dedicated her life to her President husband. After his death, she worked for human rights and women’s causes.
• Mary Kay dedicated herself to uplifting women’s self-esteem by giving them opportunities to learn, work, and earn an income.
• Oprah Winfrey is currently championing the education of girls in Africa among many other worthy human endeavors.

Truly live
Think of the best possible thing that you could accomplish today, and then ask yourself this. What would be even better?

Instead of lowering your expectations to be more in line with reality, raise those expectations and then improve your reality so it matches them. That's a much better choice and yes, you can most certainly do it.

Realize that the best is yet to come. Then get busy and make it happen.

What has happened before may be interesting and useful to know about. Yet all of that is in the past, and right now the world is filled with brand new possibilities.

The quality of your life right now depends on how you live it right now. What will you choose to do with such a magnificent opportunity?

This is the moment when you can mold life into whatever you would like it to be. Take a deep breath, stand up, walk forward and truly live all the wonder that is here.
