RENEGADES WIN IN OT, VIRGINIA ENDS ACC SLIDE

The Richmond Renegades scored with 6 seconds left in OT last night at Twin City to pick up a 4-3 victory over the Cyclones, with the win the Gades moved into 3rd place in the SPHL standings 1 point ahead of Fayetteville. The Gades have three games left and next two games are against Fayetteville before ending the season against Twin City. The Virginia baseball ended there 3 game ACC losing streak beating Duke 10-1 yesterday, the Cavs need to win today to get back to .500 in the ACC. They will announce the field for this years NCAA basketball tournament later today and there a couple of schools from Virginia who hope they get invited, one is Virginia Tech and I think they will get an invite and the other is VCU but I don't think they will get invited but I hope they do. George Mason is already in the field for winning CAA tournament. We are suppose to play Manchester on Monday at 5pm but we have had about .50 inches of rain and it is still raining as a type todays entry so tomorrows game is very much in doubt. It seems everywhere that NASCAR has gone this year that the rain has followed them and it has been no different this week at Bristol, qualifying was rained out again this week and yesterdays Nationwide race was shortened because of rain as well, by the way Clint Bowyer won yesterdays race. I am feeling a little better this morning, my wisdom tooth is my main problem this morning. MICKEY

LEADERSHIP TIP, from Joe Farcht
Accountability: Are you a living victim? Do you believe other people, events or circumstances force you to do the things you do? Nothing could be further from the truth! What you experience today is a result of the choices you made in the past. What you experience tomorrow is a result of the choices you make today. Ignoring, procrastinating, or choosing poorly are all choices. They will either propel you toward outrageous success or place impossible barriers in your way.

1882 - The U.S. Senate approved a treaty allowing the United States to join the Red Cross.
1937 - Former world champion hurdler, Percy Beard, was hired by the Brooklyn Dodgers to teach the faltering baseball team how to run.
1955 - The Ballad of Davy Crockett, by Bill Hayes, reached the number one spot on the pop music charts and stayed for five weeks beginning this day. The smash hit song sold more than 7,000,000 records on more than 20 different labels. Everyone seemed to be singing the song that saluted the frontier hero who was “Born on a mountain top in Tennessee...” Coonskin caps were seen everywhere as the Crockett craze spread like a frontier fire.
