RENEGADES FALL IN OT BUT CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT

The Richmond Renegades fell to the Knoxville Ice Bears last night on OT 3-2, however the Renegades did clinch a playoff spot with 1 point they received for going to OT. The game last night started about an hour late because the referee got hung up in a traffic jam and I think it affected both teams because both teams looked very sluggish. The Renegades are at Twin City tonight. The Virginia baseball team suffered another ACC loss falling to Duke 9-8, it looks like Cavs are going to have a tough time with there ACC schedule this year. Rain washed at qualifying for this weeks Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol, the field will start by last years owners points which means it will be Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon on the front row. The CH boys soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season last night with a 5-1 victory over LC Bird, the girls soccer season starts next week. It looks like the nice spring like weather will end today for a few days, it looks like Sunday & Monday th high will be in mid 50's. What's going on down in Georgia, it appears a tornado touched down in Atlanta last night, it has been a tough couple of months to be living in Georgia with all the bad weather they have been having. My PAIN index is still high this morning because of numerous problems: right shoulder, left knee, left wisdom tooth, blister on right big toe and some sinus problems, other than that I am OK. MICKEY

1820 - Maine joined the 22 states of the United States of America.
1869 - The Cincinnati Red Stockings, the first professional baseball team in America, had quite a day in Yellow Springs, OH, where they trounced Antioch 41-7. They weren’t even the Big Red Machine back then! In fact, the team was so embarrassed about their name, they changed it to Cincinnati Red Legs and even after that, (but long before Pete Rose) they became the Cincinnati Reds.
1937 - The first blood bank was established -- in Chicago, IL at the Cook County Hospital.
1954 - CBS television inaugurated its Morning Show. The host? None other than the man who would become “The most trusted man in America,” Walter Cronkite.
1971 - CBS television made a major announcement, saying that it was dropping The Ed Sullivan Show from its program line-up after 23 years on the network. The Sullivan show, a Sunday night fixture, presented everyone from the Beatles and dancing bears to a talking mouse named Topo Gigio, plus anyone and anything in between. It was the longest-running show in television history. “Kissa-me goo-night, Eddie...” (The final show aired June 6, 1971.)
1977 - The first episode of Eight is Enough was aired on ABC-TV.

LEADERSHIP TIP, from Joe Farcht
Create Life Guiding Statements: Life guiding statements include knowing who you are, your vision for the future, your purpose for living, your values, and your dreams and written goals. Most people spend more time planning vacations than they do planning these powerful parts of their life. Developing and refining these life guiding statements provide powerful direction and guidance for your work and life. With them you can say YES to the things that help you in your journey and NO to the distractions that will prevent you from creating outrageous success.
