HAPP BIRTHDAY AL, VIRGINIA SWEEPS BC

Well today is fellow blogger Al Goulder's birthday and he is 46 today if my records are correct, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AL. I was going to sing again today but with my allergies acting up I didn't think it would sound very good. The Virginia baseball team completed there sweep of Boston College yesterday beating the Eagles 8-6, with win the Cavs improved to 5-4 in the ACC and will fave Virginia Tech next weekend in ACC play. The Virginia basketball team will face Old Dominion in the CBI basketball tournament at the JPJ Arena. Speaking of college basketball I am now rooting for the Davidson Wildcats to win the NCAA tournament after there upset of Georgetown. In high school baseball action today the Thomas Dale Knights will be playing Manchester in the Manchester Spring Break Tournament, the Colonials will return to action on Tuesday against Monacan in the LC Bird Tournament. My PAIN index is a bit lower this morning, the only thing that is really bothering me is that I am tired from my whirlwind trip to the beach yesterday. MICKEY

We count on winning. And if we lose, don't beef. And the best way to prevent beefing is - don't lose.

LEADERSHIP TIP, from Joe Farcht

Work / Life Balance and Health: Working long hours will eventually cause disease, exhaustion, and dysfunction. I once worked with a manager who committed to getting a balanced life – but not until he retired in two years! Others I know have realized the value of a balanced life only after a heart attack or a stroke. Why are you waiting? There are eight areas of life I recommend balancing: Family, Spiritual, Health, Physical, Educational, Career, Financial, and Social. Every month for a year, set one small goal to increase your satisfaction in one of those areas. In a year’s time, you will be a happier individual.

Small opportunities
Big opportunities come to those who make the most of the small opportunities. Small opportunities are present in each moment and in every situation.

Today is filled with small opportunities. In little bits of time that might otherwise be wasted, there is treasure waiting to be created.

Having a clear sense of purpose brings those small opportunities to light. Living with a strong commitment to move forward compels you to seize those opportunities and make the most of them.

Small steps, taken consistently, put you in position to take big steps. Save a few dollars a day, day after day, for example, and soon you have hundreds or thousands of dollars available to invest.

Honing your skills on the small things, by learning what works and what doesn't, will prepare you to successfully handle the big challenges and opportunities. Time is your friend when you make continuous use of it to grow stronger and more capable.

Everywhere you look, there are small ways for you to make a positive difference. String enough of them together, and absolutely anything is within your reach.

Happy Birthday Al...I agree with Mick, he should not sing if he is not at his best. That would be an injustice.

Happy Birthday Al. I see Mickey found a picture that is not your best. Mickey's singing is not the best when he doesn't have perfect voice.
