APPOMATTOX FINANCIAL WINS 2



Well our softball team got off to a good start last night sweeping two games from Van Dyke Landscaping 14-2 and 11-8. The AF team played great defense all night and even hit the ball pretty well but the AF team is capable of hitting the ball much better than it did last night, next games will be Monday night. The Pittsburgh Steelers opened the NFL season with a win last night beating the Miami Dolphins 28-17 in Pittsburgh, the rest of the NFL plays Sunday and Monday. Tonight in high school football action the Colonials will travel to Brunswick to play the Bulldogs, Brunswick lost last week 22-21 to Northwest Halifax a team from North Carolina, Thomas Dale will play at Manchester and L.C. Bird plays at Matoaca. Down in Georgia the Crawford County Eagles will try to pick up there first win of the season when they play the Pelham Hornets, the Hornets lost last week 7-6 and have a 0-1 record. Down at the beach First Flight is off, Roanoke plays at Manteo which is 3-0 and coming off a 42-0 win over First Flight and are ranked 4th in the state and Cape Hatteras plays Columbia. The Nascar Nextel Cup and Busch Series are in Richmond this weekend at RIR, Al will be there taking some photos both days. MICKEY

Ricky is on the roster and might play monday, the only injury that I know of was to Rick "The Hammer" Hall, he hurt his heel.
