what a miserable day for baseball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BASEBALL SCRIMMAGE STILL ON RIGHT NOW, GADES LOSE ON THE ROAD

As I write this mornings entry to the blog our baseball scrimmage scheduled for noon today against Monacan is still on but the weather still has the scrimmage pretty much in doubt. Right now the rain is just below the VA and NC border and is pretty much stationary at this time but there is still 90% chance of rain. Also today the Thomas Dale Knights have a baseball scrimmage at Cosby. The Virginia Cavalier baseball team is now 8-0 after beating Delaware 11-4 & Fordham 6-2 yesterday, the Cavs will face Fordham again later this morning. The Virginia basketball team will be back at home today as well against Wake Forest, maybe the Cavs can pull another upset. The VCU Rams can win the CAA today with a win over Georgia State, I am sure the Rowdy Rams will be out in full force today. The Richmond Renegades got hammered on the road last night in Columbus 5-1, with the loss the Gades are now in 3rd place and they will face Columbus again tonight. Kyle Busch captured the pole for this weeks race at Las Vegas, his brother Kurt will join him on the front row making it an all Busch front row. The donuts at Wal-Mart were very good this morning but all the had were glazed donuts, I didn't have time to wait for them to bring out the assorted selection. MICKEY

VIRGINIA FALLS TO MIAMI, THE RAIN IS ON THE WAY

The Virginia Cavaliers played well until late in the game against Miami when Miami pulled away late to come away with 62-55 win. The Cavs have to learn to play the complete 40 minutes of the game, they always seem to take off about 5 minutes of every game. The Virginia baseball team will play a doubleheader today because of the impending rain this weekend, the Cavs will face Delaware and Fordham today. The Richmond Renegades will be on the road at Columbus both tonight and tomorrow night, the Gades need win to keep there hold on 2nd place because there are several teams breathing down there necks. We are suppose to have our 1st scrimmage of the year tomorrow but it looks like mother nature has other plans because there is 60% chance of rain today and a 80% chance of rain on Saturday. Thomas Dale is also suppose to scrimmage tomorrow as well. I threw allot pitches yesterday but for some reason my arm still isn't hurting as bad as I thought it would be so my PAIN index hasn't really gone up that much. MICKEY

VCU WINS, WEATHER NOT LOOKING TO GOOD FOR THIS WEEKENDS SCRIMMAGE

The VCU Rams beat the James Madison Dukes last night 71-52 and the Rams are just 1 win away from winning the CAA. The Rams will finish out the regular season on Saturday at home against the Georgia State Panthers and all the need to do is win and the win the CAA. The Virginia Cavalier basketball team will be at home tonight against the Miami Hurricanes, after tonight the Cavs still have 3 more games and two of those games will be at home as well. The weather is not looking to good for this weekends baseball scrimmage, there is a 50& chance of rain on Friday and a 60% chance of rain on Saturday and the we might get a little snow on Saturday night as well. The temperature the next 2 days will be in the 60's the next 2 days before dropping back into 40's on Sunday. I think my PAIN index has finally caught up with me, I am hurting quite a bit this morning, the right side of my body is pretty sore. MICKEY

RENEGADES TO SUSPEND OPERATIONS AT THE END OF THE SEASON, VCU ON THE ROAD TONIGHT

Well it appears that the Richmond Renegades will suspend operations at the end of the season unless someone steps forward with injection of money or just outright buys the team. It had been reported by several news outlets in Richmond that someone may stepped up but the CEO of the Gades will only say that there some negotiations going on. It will be ashamed if there is no hockey in Richmond next year. The Virginia baseball team is now 5-0 after beating William & Mary yesterday 11-1, the Cavs are now off until Friday when they play Fordham. It was still a bit cold at baseball practice yesterday but the wind had died down quite a bit so it didn't feel as bad as it did on Monday. I did throw allot of pitches yesterday so my arm is a bit sore this morning but right it isn't hurting to bad. Today it is suppose to be in the mid 50's and tomorrow in the 60's but there is a 50% of rain on Friday which could cause some problems for Saturday's scrimmage. The VCU Rams have a pretty tough game on the road tonight at James Madison, JMU has been playing pretty well this years and the Rams have struggled a bit on the road a bit lately. I did talk to fellow blogger Keith yesterday afternoon and he was still out of action yesterday but he hopes to be back up on his feet today, Andrew is also still a bit under the weather as well. Office Printers
If possible, make sure you sit away from an office printer, as these produce a lot of noxious chemicals.

Statistically one bungee jump is about as dangerous as driving 100 miles in a car. (About a two in one million chance of death) There have been millions of safe bungee jumps, and only a few accidents. Almost every accident was caused by the jumper not being properly connected to the cord or the cord not being properly connected to the jump platform.

Even if you're dealt a bad hand in life, with courage and faith you can play it well.

Fever: If your temperature is 100.5 degrees F or higher, then stay home. Don't return to your office or school until 24 hours after your fever has subsided. A fever is one of clearest signs of a contagious illness, and showing up at school or work will too easily result in passing on whatever you've got to others.

IT WAS A BIT COLD FOR OUR 1ST DAY OF BASEBALL PRACTICE

I have to say it was a bit cold yesterday for our 1st day of baseball practice and it was a bit breezy as well. Once I got swinging fungo thought I wasn't near as cold, I didn't have to throw at all yesterday but I will throw today. My PAIN index isn't to bad this morning but I got a feeling by about noon it is really going to start hurting from hitting as many fungos as I did yesterday. Today the temp is going to be a few degrees warmer than yesterday but the wind is suppose to die down a bit. Also fellow blogger Keith din't make it to the 1st day of baseball practice at Thomas Dale, Keith and Andrew both are under the weather with the flu. The Virginia Cavalier baseball team will try to improve to 5-0 today when William & Mary visits Charlottesville, I am sure it will be cold there. Also today the Richmond Renegades have called a news conference this morning at the coliseum to discuss the future of team. MICKEY

Fellow blogger Keith also starts baseball practice today so you can expect his PAIN to be on the rise as well. The Virginia baseball team is now 4-0 after beating Bucknell yesterday 11-1, either the Cavs have tremendous pitching staff or Bucknell doesn't have a whole lot of bats in there lineup, they only scored 2 runs in 4 games. Matt Kenseth won his 2nd race of the season yesterday at the California Speedway holding off Jeff Gordon for the win, you talk about a ho hum race, I am glad I didn't pay money to see this one. RENEGADES WIN AGAIN, VIRGINIA SWEEPS BUCKNELL

For the second straight night the Richmond Renegades come from behind in the 3rd period to pull out a victory this time in shootout. Trailing 4-2 entering the 3rd period against Knoxville the Gades scored 2 goals to tie the game and send it to OT in which nobody scored to send it the shootout where the Gades won the 3-2 and come away with a 5-4 SO win. The Gades are no off until next weekend when the travel down to Georgia to face the Cottonmouths Friday an Saturday nights. The Virginia Cavalier baseball team is now 3-0 after sweeping Bucknell yesterday 7-0 & 6-1, the Cavs will finish out there series with Bucknell today looking for a sweep. The Virginia basketball team didn't fair as well yesterday falling to N.C. State on the road 72-67. I did go over and see the VSU Trojans baseball game yesterday against Millersville University and it was bit cold but not to bad but the Trojans lost 8-4 & 8-1, the nickname for Millersville is the Marauders. Kyle Busch won yesterday's Nascar Truck & Nationwide races at the California Speedway and he will be looking at the Sprint Cup race to that list tonight. Have a nice day. MICKEY

How to Treat Blisters
If you do get a blister, the goal is to keep the blister from getting bigger and avoiding infection. Signs of infection include pus draining from the blister, very red or warm skin around the blister, and red streaks leading away from the blister).

Small unbroken blisters that don't cause discomfort can be left alone to heal, because the best protection against infection is a blister's own skin. However, large, painful blisters can be drained as long as you keep the top layer of skin intact and covering the blister.

To safely drain a blister, first clean the blister and the surrounding area with rubbing alcohol or antibiotic soap and water. Next, sterilize a needle over a flame until the tip glows red and allow it to cool. Finally, puncture a very small hole at the edge of the blister and drain the fluid by applying gentle pressure. Once drained, place antibiotic ointment on the blister and cover with a bandage and let it heal naturally.
