DAVIDSON FALLS, A COUPLE MORE DREARY DAYS

Well the Davidson Wildcats run towards the final 4 ended yesterday with a 59-57 loss to Kansas, the Wildcats put up a good fight but just fell short. All the #1 seeds in the tournament advanced to the final 4. The UVA baseball team finished there sweep of Virginia Tech yesterday with 2-1 win, with the win the Cavs are now 23-5 overall and 8-4 in the ACC. Denny Hamlin won yesterdays Sprint Cup race at Martinsville holding off Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton for the win, next week the will be at the very fast Texas Motor Speedway. MLB opened its season on US soil last night with Nationals beating the Braves 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th inning, most of the rest of teams will have there openers today. The weather isn't looking to good right now for tomorrow's Central District baseball openers, it rained most of the day yesterday and there is about 50/50 shot of rain today and tomorrow as well and the sun isn't suppose to be out at all. Today the temp is only going to be in the mid 50's while Tuesday it is suppose be around 70. Most of the area schools will reopen today with the exception of Colonial Heights, I guess the school board thought they needed an extra day off. MICKEY

Self-disciplined begins with the mastery of your thoughts. If you don't control what you think, you can't control what you do. Simply, self-discipline enables you to think first and act afterward.
Napoleon Hill

Never stop reaching
It is only when a seed grows that it can produce more seeds. It is only when you express joy and abundance in your own life that you can help others to know joy and abundance in their lives.

To make yourself miserable for the sake of helping others will serve no useful purpose at all. The best way to be of service to others is from a position of strength and fulfillment rather than from a position of weakness and despair.

The goals and dreams and desires that are so undeniably your own are yours for a reason. They are showing you, and at the same time compelling you, to make the most of your life.

It is not selfish to be your very best. What's truly selfish is to let your enormous potential go unrealized.

What have you always wanted to know, always wanted to have, always wanted to do, and always wanted to be? It is never too late to honestly answer that question, and to answer it with all the colorful detail and passion that it deserves.

For in the answer to that question is your own truly beautiful and unique gift to life. Never stop reaching for the best you can imagine; for when you fulfill your highest possibilities, you raise the whole world up with you.

RENEGADES SEASON ENDS IN OT, DAVIDSON WILL TRY TO MOVE ON TODAY

The Richmond Renegades season came to an end last night at the hands of the Fayetteville FirAntz in OT 5-4, with the win the FireAntz win the series 2-0 and will move on to meet the winner of the Jacksonville & Twin City series. I didn't go to last nights game, the Gades season sure was an up & down one winning 12 straight and losing 5 or 6 straight on numerous occasions. I think the biggest problem this year was the high turnover of players for one reason or another, hopefully the league will be better next year and they will add a much needed 8th team. I did go see the VSU baseball team in action yesterday and they lost a DH 2-1 & 6-5 to ST Augustine, both games were very goo ones with VSU coming out on the short end of both. the Virginia baseball team beat Va. Tech again yesterday this time 9-2, the Cavs will go for the sweep this afternoon. The NCAA basketball tournament has two more game today to determine the Final Four, UNC & UCLA are already in and Texas will play Memphis in 1 game today while Davidson meat Kansas in the other game to determine the final to spots, GO DAVIDSON. The Sprint Cup Series is at the Martinsville Speedway this afternoon weather permitting, it is raining here in CH and there are also showers in the Martinsville area also. I have added widget that will tell you old you actually are, just put your DOB and it will display the results. It is cold dreary morning here in CH. MICKEY

Positive Thinking, Positive Mental Attitude
By A.M.Sall

Look at this glass on the table in front of you. Is it half-full or is it half-empty?

Now, do you realize that it is entirely for you to decide what the answer to this question is going to be.

The choice is yours.

So, the very same reality can be seen in totally opposite ways: in a positive way, and in a negative way.

And there is always a positive side to any thing, any situation, any event, any person.

Look at the world in a different way. Try to find out that positive side. At first, you might literally have to dig it out, but after some time, it automatically appears to you. In fact, you eventually only see the good side.

Everything is beautiful, "everybody's beautiful, in their own way", as the song goes.

So we invite you to try our 3-step positive mental attitude formula.

In any situation, however apparently bad:

1. Keep cool and coolly examine the situation. Turn it upside down, inside out, downside up and outside in.

2. Suddenly you realize it could have been worse. Find out how and why it could have been worse.

3. Finally, the good side of it will just appear to you. This can happen gradually or in a flash. It all depends on parts 1 and 2.

Soon you'll see all things and all people in a positive way

What you call "failure" is in fact simply a new opportunity to try again and do better than if you had "succeeded" in the first place.

Now, have you noticed that a rich person has more of a chance of getting a bank loan than a poor person? In other words: you must have money to be given MORE money!

In the same way, if you are a "happy person", you'll get MORE happiness.

As the great American poet Theodore Roethke said: "The right things happen to the happy man"

Don't worry, whatever type of person you are, you can easily turn yourself into a "happy person".

I can almost see your wry, "easier-said-than-done" smile.

But please, just try our 3-step formula and soon, very soon, in fact much sooner than you think, you'll take up a sturdy and radiant Positive Mental Attitude to life and THAT is the only key to wellness, happiness, and a longer life.

RENEGADES LOSE 4-1, DAVIDSON WINS

The Richmond Renegades lost to the Fayetteville FireAntz last night 4-1 in game 1 of the best of 3 series, the series switches to Richmond tonight for game game 2. I haven't decided if I am going yet tonight or not, with the price of gas so high i don't know if it is worth it. The Davidson Wildcats beat the Wisconsin Badgers last night 73-56 and now will play Kansas on Sunday in the Elite 8, I hope the beat Kansas but I think it will be a very tough task for Davidson. The UVA baseball team beat Virginia Tech last night 10-1, with the win the Cavs are now 6-4 in the ACC and have won 4 straight ACC games, they will play Tech again today & Sunday. Jeff Gordon captured the pole for this weekends race at the Martinsville Speedway edging out Denny Hamlin for the top spot. My Pain index has gone up again this morning because I cut the grass last night, while trying to start the lawnmower I think I pulled a muscle in the right side of my body and I think I inhaled a bit to much pollen while cutting the grass. Yours to create
If anyone has been able to do it before, you can do it too. If no one has ever done it, you can be the first.

What seems out of your reach now, gets closer the moment you begin working toward it. There is a way to achieve what you choose, when you commit yourself to continue taking action.

If you could have it all instantly, it would not be worth having. For the real value of accomplishment is in the accomplishing.

You are smart, and motivated, and flexible and resourceful. When you decide to make it happen, you will surely find your way there.

Focus on the reason for doing it, the deepest reason you can find within yourself. That will keep you going as long as necessary.

Achievement is yours to create, when it's something to which you're truly committed. Get it done, and know the special joy of making the world a better place.

COLONIALS WIN, RENEGADES IN PLAYOFF ACTION

The Colonial Heights Colonials picked up a 12-5 victory yesterday over Meadowbrook in there final tuneup before Central District play starts on Tuesday. Burke Steele picked up the win on the mound for the Colonials striking out 9 and only allowing 1 walk pitching a complete game. Offensively the Colonials were lead by Daniel Falls who went 2-2 with a 2b and 2 RBI's, Jordan Reeves who went 2-4 with 2 2b and 2RBI's and Brett Draper who went 2-4 with a 2b with 2RBI's. The Colonial are now 4-2 and will open up district play at 6pm on Tuesday at Prince George. The Richmond Renegades will play game 1 of there best of 3 playoff series tonight in Fayetteville before returning to Richmond for game 2 tomorrow night, I am not feeling to good about the Renegades chances in the playoffs this year. The Nascar Sprint Cup Series will be back in Virginia this weekend at the famed Martinsville Speedway and yes there could be some tempers flaring again this weekend. My allergies are still acting up pretty bad and I got a feeling they are going to get worst before they get any better which has lead to my Pain index still being a bit high, my arm is feeling as good as new though. Top Ten Body Foods, By Jonathon Allmark
To help you along here are my personal top ten favourite foods. Whether I am trying to lose weight, building muscle or just sustain the same weight and stay healthy I try to incorporate these foods into my diet.

1. Lean Beef Steak – An excellent source of protein, a vital ingredient in muscle development and repair. They are also rich in other nutrients such as iron and zinc.

2. Nuts – Peanuts, walnuts, almonds and a few others. Although high in calories, nuts are low in the bad saturated fats, but high in the good fats (essential fatty acids), which can lower cholesterol. They are also a source of protein.

3. Chicken – Chicken meat, especially the off the breast, is a great source of protein and are extremely low in fat when the skin is removed.

4. Turkey – Another poultry, same as chicken really. Good source of protein and very low in fat.

5. Wholemeal Bread – High in unrefined carbohydrates to supply your body with the energy that it needs. Also high in dietry fibre, essential for digestion.

6. Brown rice – Like wholemeal bread, also high in unrefined carbohydrates and fibre.

7. Bananas – High in fibre and vitamin C, also a great pre-workout energy source as they are high in unrefined carbohydrates. Also a good source of potassium.

8. Fish – Aim to eat fatty cold water fish, such as mackerel, salmon and herring, a couple of times a week. Low in saturated fat but high in omega 3 essential fatty acid, so it’s great for the heart. Also high in protein, so great for your muscles.

9. Eggs - Contain good protein for muscle building. Now some egg producers are also adding flaxseed to the chicken feed, which increases an eggs fatty acid content and also it’s vitamin E.

10. Vegetables – Finally on my list is vegetables in general, any grown from the earth. Most vegetables are a good source of fibre and slow releasing complex carbohydrates. Excellent for energy.

Try to incorporate these foods into your day to day diet. If you are trying to burn fat or add muscle mass these are all good foods for you. Just adjust your calories in which ever direction you are heading.

COLONIALS HAVE A TOUGH DAY, UVA BASKETBALL SESON IS OVER

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team had a tough afternoon yesterday falling to LC Bird 15-1 in 5 innings. There weren't any good things that came out of the game so I won't say anything thing else about it. Today we will face Meadowbrook at Noon in out final tuneup before Central District play starts on Tuesday at Prince George. Thomas Dal picked up another win yesterday 12-9 over Collegiate, with the wins TD improves to 4-1 on the season and I have posted the rest of the CD scores that I know below. The UVA basketball season is now officially over after lat nights 96-85 loss to Bradley in the semi-finals of the CBI, it was a long tough season for the Cavs. My allergies were bothering me pretty bad yesterday and with yesterdays baseball loss mt PAIN index has been elevated a bit. I also forget to mention that I did have a brief argument argument with an umpire yesterday. MICKEY

Weight Loss Tip, By Pat Barone
Rethink Attitude: Mental attitude towards weight loss can waiver dramatically along the route to a healthier lifestyle. On Day 1, the mind can is often screaming "Let's Do It!" but, by Day 16, the once-focused brain might be tired and frustrated, emitting squeaky little cries of "Why bother? No matter how hard I try, I'll never lose all this weight!" Attitude is a huge determinant of behavior so get that attitude adjusted as soon as it strays from a productive viewpoint.

Can you find Yellow"beach cat" hiding in the pampas grass.

Where was everybody yesterday. Maybe I was a little late yesterday. When doing the blog yesterday I was beginning to think it was me and not the computer. I had trouble with the beach computer so I brought my laptop. Well I couldn't work the mouse . It would not open anything unless I used the touch pad. Mickey said he was not having trouble so I thought it was me. I couldn't stand it so I bouught a new mouse. It was the mouse and not me. Yeah!! just a little crazy.
My eyes are bothering me today and I haven't even been outside. I think it's the beach pine. They are watering so bad it is hard to see the computer.

COLONIALS BEAT MONACAN 6-4, FACE LC BIRD TODAY AT 4PM

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team came from behind again yesterday to pick up a 6-4 win over Monacan. The Colonials entered the top of the 7th inning down 4-0 but got 4 runs in the top of the 7th to tie the game and two more in the top of the 8th to come away with a 6-4 victory. Jeff Kidd picked up the win relief and JD McCarty picked up the save in the win. Offensively for the Colonials JD had a 2b with 3RBI's, Kenny Stoneback 2RBI's and Caleb Lee at 2 hits for the Colonials. The Colonials will face LC Bird today at 4pm. Also yesterday the Thomas Dale Knights beat Hopewell 10-1, TD will face Collegiate today. In softball action the Colonials fell to Nottoway 7-3. In College basketball action tonight the Virginia Cavaliers will play Bradley in the semi-finals of the CBI, I understand that Keith and Andrew will making the trip to Charlottesville. It has also come to my attention that fellow blogger Al's camera has been sent in for some repairs, hopefully he will get it back soon so he can take some more photos of the Colonials in action. The weather looks like it is going to be very nice today so come on out to the baseball game. MICKEY

Age is a question of mind over matter. If you don't mind, age don't matter.

Essential Tip For Loving Your Life, By Cherry Norris
Don't Do Everything Alone.

It's exhausting. It's overwhelming. It's usually not worth it.

And it's impossible.

Ask for help. Find support. Delegate. Or simply don't do it.

If you're overworked and overwhelmed, you're not good for anybody...most importantly...yourself. (Sound familiar?)

(Good. You're gettin' it!)

If you could choose
If you could choose what kind of world to live in, what kind of world would you choose? If you could determine how the upcoming day will be, with what kinds of things would you fill it?

If you had the power to decide what types of opportunities would come your way, what opportunities would you select? If you knew that your experiences would equal your expectations, what would your expectations be?

In fact, you do have the power to choose the way that much of your world will be. You do have the ability to decide what kinds of events, experiences, opportunities and circumstances come your way.

For the world you experience is the world with which your dreams, your thoughts, your expectations and your actions most closely resonate. The world you see and live in, is the world you most sincerely expect to see.

The universe is filled with endless possibilities, and those possibilities keep growing more numerous with each minute. The way you live determines which of those possibilities come into contact with your life.

With your thoughts, with your actions, with your values, dreams and expectations, you do indeed choose what kind of world you live in. The way you are, is closely mirrored in the world you see.
