RANGERS SEASON COMES TO AN END, ANDREW BACK IN ACTION TONIGHT
The New York Rangers season came to an end yesterday afternoon when they fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 in OT and lose the series 4-1. The NHL semi finals are now set with Pittsburgh meeting Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference finals and Dallas meeting Detroit in the Western Conference finals, I would have to say that Pittsburgh and Detroit are the favorite teams in there respective finals. Andrew's litttle league team will be back in action tonight at 7:30pm at Ironbridge Park on field #4, Keith said Andrew went 3-3 in yesterdays game including an inside the park HR and he also pitched in yesterdays throwing 73 pitches, his PAIN index might be up a bit this morning. My PAIN index continues to be low, my ear has even cleared up and that has caused the index to continue to fall. The weather looks like it is going to be good for the most part all week, there is a chance that it might rain on Friday though. Also fellow blogger Keith is heading out of town today for 2 weeks and I think he is heading to Detroit. MICKEY
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.

1809 - Who was the first woman to be issued a U.S. patent? It was Mary Kies of South Killingly, CT. She was granted a patent for the rights to a technique for weaving straw with silk and thread.
1847 - The American Medical Association was organized in Philadelphia, PA. Go sit in your doctor’s waiting room to celebrate...
1893 - The worst economic crisis in U.S. history (to that time) happened on this day. Stock prices plummeted, major railroads went into receivership, 15,000 businesses went bankrupt and 15 to 20 percent of the work force was unemployed. Within seven months, over 600 banks had closed.
1900 - The Billboard, a magazine for the music and entertainment industries, began weekly publication after six years as a monthly. The name was later shortened to Billboard.
1904 - Cy Young of the Boston Red Sox tossed a perfect game against the Philadelphia Americans. The final score was 3-0. No player on the Philadelphia team reached first base. It was the third perfect game ever thrown in the big leagues.
1936 - Edward Ravenscroft of Glencoe, IL was sitting at his kitchen table, admiring the piece of mail he had just received from the U.S. Patent Office. It was a patent for the screw-on bottle cap with the pour lip. For those who have always wondered, but maybe were a little shy to ask, now you know...
1956 - The first runner to break the four-minute mile within the United States was Jim Bailey and he did it on this day. He was clocked at a speedy 3:58.6 in Los Angeles, CA.
1978 - Pete Rose of the Cincinnati Reds smacked his 3,000th major-league hit. Not many years later, ‘Charlie Hustle’ would break Ty Cobb’s career record of 4,191 hits.
The power of responsibility
Responsibility is not a burden. It is the key that enables you to exercise control over your own destiny.
Only by taking responsibility are you able to move life in the direction of your own dreams and visions. Responsibility fully engages the best of who you are.
Responsibility can be difficult, time-consuming, unfair, inconvenient and uncomfortable. Yet it also brings you to a level of empowerment that cannot be reached in any other way.
At the heart of true achievement is responsibility. An essential element of meaningful fulfillment is responsibility.
Every great opportunity is an opportunity to take responsibility. Whatever the situation, the most successful way forward is to act with responsibility.
No matter what has happened, or who is to blame, or how it all came to be, choose to take full responsibility for your life. For that is the first step in making it great.
