ANDREW IN LITTLE LEAGUE ACTION TODAY AT 4PM

I will be heading out to see Andrew in Little League action this afternoon at 4pm at Ironbridge Park on field #4. It looks like it will be a very busy week for Andrew's team the next few days, they also have game on Sunday and play Monday & Tuesday at 7:30pm at Ironbridge also before they playoffs start sometime after Memorial Day. The First Flight baseball team lost last night to South Lenoir 9-6, it was there 1st loss of the season and they will finish the season with a 23-1 record. The NHL playoffs resume today with Dallas visiting Detroit in a must win game for the Stars and on Sunday the Flyers face the same fate when they visit Pittsburgh, both the Stars and Flyers trail in there series 3 games to 1. Nascar will have it's annual All-Star race tonight at the Lowe's Motor Speedway, I am quite sure that some tempers will be flaring by the end of the night. Also tonight Colonial Heights High School will hold it's senior prom, maybe Melanie can posts some photos of Lee and his girlfriend if she isn't to tired from all the decorating she had to do for the after prom festivities. Forget what I said about a nice weekend, today looks pretty good but there is 50% chance of rain now Sunday. Well I have to cut my hair and cut the grass. MICKEY

Leadership consists not in degrees of technique but in traits of character; it requires moral rather than athletic or intellectual effort, and it imposes on both leader and follower alike the burdens of self-restraint.

Health Tip: Poison Ivy Rash (I TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM POISON IVY)

Poison ivy is a plant that can cause a red, itchy rash on the skin.

The American Academy of Family Physicians offers these tips to treat the rash. It also identifies signs that you may need a doctor's attention:

* Try over-the-counter medications to control itching, such as an antihistamine (like Benadryl), calamine lotion and hydrocortisone creams.
* Take oatmeal baths to soothe the skin.
* Fevers of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit require a doctor's attention.
* Rashes that cover the eyes, mouth, genitals or a large area across the body should be treated by a doctor.
* If pus is oozing from the rash, see your doctor.
* See your doctor if the rash does not improve.
