THE DAYTONA 500, RENEGADES LOSE AGAIN

Well the 2008 Nascar Sprint Cup season begins today with the running of the 50th annual Daytona 500 this afternoon. Jimmy Johnson will lead the field to the green and I am predicting that one of the Hendrick cars will win the race, Tony Stewart won yesterdays Nationwide race. The Richmond Renegades loss there 5th straight game last night losing to the Huntsville Havoc 4-0, the Gades are now off until Friday night. The VCU Rams fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs last night 67-66, the Rams still lead the CAA by two games though because George Mason loss to UNC Wilmington. The Virginia Cavaliers will try to find some way to win another game today when the play at Boston College, BC is the only team they have beat in the ACC this year. I went over and saw the Virginia State Trojan baseball team play yesterday and the split a doubleheader with Bloomfield College, they lost the 1st game 5-4 and won the 2nd game 8-7. It was a bit cool over there but it wasn't to bad, they will play game 3 of the series today at noon if it doesn't rain. My PAIN index has been elevated today because I haven't slept well at all the last 3 days and tripped going up the steps last night banged my knee on the steps and I forgot to mention my ear is still bothering me. MICKEY

No one wants to quit when he's losing and no one wants to quit when he's winning.

NUTRITION TIP
Increase your meal frequency: That's right, I want you to eat more often, but don't increase your total calories. For example, if you eat three times per day, break those three meals into five to six smaller meals and eat every three hours. Food can actually help burn body fat when it's used strategically. When you eat a large meal such as a big bowl of pasta, you raise your blood-sugar levels and the body increases its level of insulin. This only serves to make you fat! If you break your meals into smaller feedings it helps to control blood sugar -- this puts you in a better position to lose fat.

HEALTH TIP FOR YOUR HEART
Eat a variety of grain products and complex carbohydrate foods. Focus on whole grains and legumes.
