PITCHING LEADS COLONIALS TO 3-1 VICTORY OVER MATOACA

The Colonial Heights pitching staff lead the way as the Colonials beat the Matoaca Warriors 3-1 in the 2nd game of the L.C. Bird Invitational. Phillip Griffith got the win for the Colonials and Nathan Anger came in the 5th inning to pick up the save for the Colonials, the two CH hurlers held Matoaca to just 5 hits in the game. Offensively the Colonials were lead by Erik Loftis who went 3-4 and JD McCarty who was 2-2. The Colonials will play St Christopher today a 1pm weather permitting, there is a pretty good chance of rain today and I am going to try to make todays game. I went over to The Diamond last night to see the UVA and VCU game and I got a free VCU Rams t-shirt for going. The Cavaliers pulled out and 8-1 victory in a game which was a bit closer than the final score indicated, the Cavs struggled a bit offensively in the game. I am also going to see UVA play Georgia Tech on Sunday. The NHL playoffs start tonight with 4 1st round games, however might team the NY Ranger don't play game 1 until tomorrow in Atlanta, GO RANGERS. MICKEY
