COLONIALS WIN 6TH STRAIGHT, COLONIAL HEIGHTS GETS 1ST SNOW OF THE YEAR

The Colonial Heights girls basketball team picked up it's 6th straight victory last night defeating Dinwiddie 58-52. I have to say that the officiating sure wasn't the best, I thought I had seen the worst earlier in the year but those three guys last night topped it off. The CH girls are now off until next Friday because of exams. The CH boys team will be at home against Dinwiddie tonight. The Renegades will be in action tonight on the road against the Pee Dee Cyclones in Florence, SC. The Gades will return home Saturday when the play the Fayetteville FireAntz. We saw our first snow of the season here in CH yesterday, although it wasn't much it did cause several accidents yesterday morning mostly on I-95. The NWS is also calling for a little more snow Sunday night. I did run 4.5 miles outside yesterday afternoon in a cold rain and my legs are a bit sore this morning, I don't think my new exercise is doing enough for me. I am glad today is Friday. MICKEY

Juice vs. fruit
A piece of fresh fruit has one key advantage over a glass of juice. When you eat an orange, an apple or a grapefruit, you're getting fiber, which isn't there in a glass of juice. Not only does fiber play a major role against diabetes and heart disease, but it fills you up with fewer calories, helping you control your weight. Fruit juices also tend to be high in added sugar. Citrus fruits in particular are loaded with antioxidant, cancer-preventing compounds, and they're bursting with vitamin C, folate and potassium.
