COLONIALS FINISH OFF A GOOD WEEK

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team finished off a good week by defeating the Hopewell Blue Devils 10-3 and by doing so improved 10-3 in the CD, the Colonials went 3-0 this week. The Colonials got a good pitching performance by Nathan Anger yesterday who just allowed 3 hits and struck out 9 and offensively the Colonials were lead by J.D. McCarty who went 3-3, Nathan Anger 3-4, and Brett who went 2-4. The Colonials are now off until Tuesday when we will finish out the regular season with a home game with Matoaca. The Thomas Dale Knights beat Petersburg 15-5 yesterday, with the victory the Knight are tied with Matoaca for the final playoff spot in the CD. The boys soccer team defeated Hopewell 2-0, the girls soccer team tied 0-0 and the softball team lost another tough won 9-8 and I understand there was some really poor umpiring in this game. The Nascar Nextel Cup Series is at Darlington Saturday night, we will see if Hendrick Motorsports can continue it's domination of the series this year. The Virginia Cavalier baseball team will start a 3 game series with NC Sate tonight in Charlottesville. I am glad it is Friday, I have a bunch of nagging injuries that I need to rest. MICKEY
