have you ever noticed how your "this day in history's" seem to have a way of cloudying the record more than setting it straight

you are correct with faas getting the us patented. but the accordion has been around a while in various forms! the cheng invented bye huang ti 3000 bc was the first instrument whitch operated on the vibrating reed principle it had 13 bamboo pipes on this instrument. the first true accordion was produced bye christian buschmann in 1822. cyillus damian is the first to patent an accoridion in vientanm in 1829. which ironically is the same year that sir charles wheatstone was award the first british patent in the same year!! also matthias hahner who everbody knows is the henry ford of the accordion world started mass producting the accordion in 1857 and i considered the father of the modern day accordion!!

glad i could bring a little culture to this cultural oasis of a forum!!!
