VIRGINIA AND EAST CAROLINA FALL

The Virginia offense decided to show up yesterday at Southern Miss but they must have left the defense in Charlottesville as the Cavs blew a 17 point lead and lost to Southern Miss 37-34. The Cavs have a much needed week off next week. Well I went down to Chapel Hill to see East Carolina fall to North Carolina 31-17, the Pirates scored first and looked like they were ready to play but that soon disappeared as the UNC offense seemed to confuse the Pirates defense the rest of the game. The Pirates return home next week to face Central Florida. The Green Bay Packers look to improve to 2-0 today when they play host to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Redskins look to pick up there 1st win of the season when Rams come to FedEx Field. In our college football contest just looking at the early numbers it looks like Julianne will remain in 1st place, I will post the new standings a little later along with next weeks games. Juan Pablo Montoya will start from the pole in the 1st race in the chase today at New Hampshire, Tony Stewart will join him on the front row. MICKEY

Cultivate Optimism
Being an optimist is more than looking on the bright side (though that helps). It’s a way of viewing the world where you maximize your strengths and accomplishments, and minimize your weaknesses and setbacks. Developing a more optimistic world view can help you become more resilient.

Sleep
Sleep is more important to your body’s ability to function properly than food or water.Your body repairs itself when you are sleeping deeply. Failing to get enough sleep impairs your body’s ability to function and, if severe enough can actually result in your system starting to break down. Your thinking and emotions are particularly susceptible to lack of sleep. Sleep is often a very big problem for trauma survivors, especially survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Many children are abused while they are sleeping. Making your world safe enough for you to be able to sleep is crucial.
