The Veteran's Committee of the Big Game Wiffle Ball Hall of Fame has decided to add two members to the Big Game Wiffle Ball Hall of Fame. You may choose two of the choices from the poll below, the two choices with the most votes will be inducted HOF to join the only member of the Big Game Wiffle Ball Hall Fame Bobby Goulder "The Veterans Committee". The Veterans Committee was apalled to learn that Mark Carsley's name appeared on the ballot. He has never shown any remorse for pulling his team off the field following the ugly heine-ball incident.His action are not reflective of the character,integrity, and love for the game that the only living member of the hall possesses and future hall members should possess. The Veterans Committee invites your comments concerning his eligibility to be selected into the wiffle ball hall of fame.
The league the FOXES PLAYED IN WAS IN A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN
i SUSPECT SOME OF THE CANDIDATES FOR THE HALL ARE VOTING FOR THEMSELVES. A HIGHLY UNETHEICAL EFFORT. It appears to be that members of the Dukes feel they must vote for themselves. My case rests concerning the character of this team , Its leader and its players. If my memory serves me correct . The Dukes never beat the Berries. The same is true in basketball as Bob St. was uundefeated against St. Bonnie-Mark.

There seems like there were allot of different types incidents taking place back in wiffle ball games back in the early years.

If Mark had Scott's attitude, he would be a shoe-in to the Hall of Fame.

Mark is correct. The wiffle ball team was the White Sox. The football team was the Dukes. I can still hear the band playing So. Cal fight song as we ran out the tunnel (aka Bernard's shop)on to the field.

The Sox were the 1st and only team to wear uniforms- They were innovators, that and their superior skill should be enough to gain entree into the prestiges Hall.

You have offended the Veterans Committee and my friend Gary even though Scott hit it on the head with his minor leaGUE and Japanese league reference./ Remember ,don't take anyones comments seriously. We are just having fun. Seriously , the Veterans Committee will be meeting today at the Hilton Gardens to decide if Mark's actions and showing NO remorse for his dispicible actions in addition to POSSILE AND PROBABLE voter fraud to the hall,SHOULD REQUIRE an immediate apology to the league ,its participants , and the Veterans Committee or suspension and removal from the ballot and eligibity to the hall until appropriate action is taken by the leaded of the now defunct team.

The 'ole catfish' will be on the Sunday talk shows to explain what actually took place that day. the pitch actually got away . The pitcher was throwing a purpose pitch to move the batter off the plate with no intent on causing injury. The pitch got away . That's wiffle ball. The uniformed young bucks on the White Sox team think they were immune to the unwritten rules of wiffle ball.The second pitch also had a purpose for the arrogance of the White Sox. I understand Jerry Springer has oinvited the Sox to explain their side on his show. I hopethey are not booed off the stage.

Whew! I'm glad I'm a girl! We played Barbies and no feelings were hurt....or at least not that I remember some 30 or so years later! I've not read any mention of cheerleaders in your "league". Perhaps that was the problem. Mick, your poll served its purpose to generate a lot of banter. I sure don't envy the "committee" having to make such a vital decision.

The arbitrators,the honorable Les Fryar ,who was the only person coming out of Pa. inthe 60's on a bus, the next best thing to an empty bbus, and the honorable Bill reade, the grand old man of wiffle ball, both biased and unfair , have ruled that no one has 75%of the vote ,therefore no one will enter this year class of the hall of fame. They feel the vote was difinitely tainted and the reaction from the White Sox contingent was arrogant as evident by comments on the bblog.It is hoped that the White Sox will do the right thing and show some remorse and become more humble. They commend Scott for some but not all of his comments. They all agree that at this time only the old catfish is worthy of Hall of Fame recognition. This ruling should put an end to the nonsense that has transpired.
