COLONIALS IMPROVE TO 2-0

The Colonial Heights Colonials football team improved 2-0 on the season last night with a 20-14 win over Park View South Hill. The Colonials jumped out to 7-0 lead before falling behind 14-7 before rallying for a 21-14 win over the Green Dragons. The Colonials will be back at home next week against 2-0 Armstrong. Down in Georgia last night Pike County beat Crawford County 33-14 and at the beach Manteo beat Atlantic Shores 16-12. There are some big college football games set for today with East Carolina looking to stay undefeated when it travels to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech, the Pirates are 2-0 and out 20 1/2 point underdogs in todays game which is hard for me to believe. Brad Keselowski is on the pole for tomorrows race at New Hampshire, Keselowski edged out Clint Boyer for the top spot. Well I think I might to a little Christmas shopping today, I am bit behind so far this year. MICKEY

You don't get enough sleep.
According to a study from Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Stanford University, the less you snooze, the less leptin (a powerful hormone) your body is likely to produce. What's that got to do with shedding pounds? Leptin helps promote weight loss in two ways: It discourages you from eating (by sending the message Hey, stop munching — you're full! to your stomach), and it rouses you to expend energy. More evidence that sleep deprivation interferes with dropping pounds: The hormone ghrelin, which stimulates appetite, is higher in people who don't get enough zzz's. (If you don't sleep soundly one night, try to squeeze in a nap the following day — the hormones are affected by how much shut-eye you get in a 24-hour period.)

Energy and persistence conquer all things. -Benjamin Franklin
