1925 - The Grand Ole Opry made its radio debut on station WSM. JUST THOUGHT YOU'D LIKE TO KNOW.

i'll have to dig into the opry history to find out if thats true or not!

the show started out as the wsm barn dance in 1925 and the name was later changed to the grand ole opry in 1927. the show was sponsored by national life accident insurance. i can't find no "cuzzin llonzo" in the original opry line up! the is a lonzo and oscar comedy team on the opry in the 40's though. the soleman old judge george d hays was the original announcer a fact that i knew off the top of my head!!

Maybe that was uncle Joe Macon in stead of Cuzzin llonzo.
