HAPPY EASTER, RANGERS ARE FINISHED

I just thought I would wish all my Mickey's Place followers a very Happy Easter Sunday and I have to say the weather here in Colonial Heights couldn't be much nicer with highs near 90's expected.  With the warm temps that are expected today it sounds like it is going to be a good day for a nice run.  The Washington Capitals finished off the New York Rangers yesterday afternoon beating the Rangers 3-1, The Caps will now have to wit until the other Eastern Conference playoff games are finished to find out who they will play in the next round.  I will be rooting for the Capitals now to win Lord Stanley's Cup.  Carl Edwards won yesterdays Nationwide race at the Nashville Speedway holding off Kyle Busch for the win.  Next weekend both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup Series will at the Richmond International Raceway.  The Virginia baseball team split a double header with N.C. State yesterday dropping the 1st game 6-2 and winning the 2nd game 3-1, the Cavs will look to win the series this afternoon.  Don't forget the Colonial Heights baseball team will be at home Monday, Tuesday and Thursday this week with all games starting at 6pm at Shepherd Stadium.  MICKEY

Onions
Onions get a bad rap for their effect on breath, but that's not the only part of the body where they pack a wallop. Onions contain potent cancer-fighting enzymes; onion consumption has been shown to help lower the risk of prostate and esophageal cancers and has also been linked to reduced mortality from coronary heart disease. Research suggests that they may help protect against stomach cancer. Onions contain sulfides that help lower blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as a peptide that may help prevent bone loss by inhibiting the loss of calcium and other bone minerals.
