ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

1648-the first volunteer fire department was established in new york by peter stuyvesant. JUST THOUGHT YOU'D LIKE TO KNOW.

Peter bought manhattan from the INdians.The fire dept was in NY City

now mark is a historian, scotts the oldest friend i have and dad's my dad!!! so who do i believe now? this day in history is turning out to be very stressfull for me!!

Mark takes the position he is always right . Therefore most people believe him even when he may be wrong. I do this with umpires and they believe I am right because of my so call reputation.

All this time I thought it was Ben Franklin! After a little research (since I KNOW everyone will be checking up on me) I found that Mr. Franklin started the first fire dept. in Philadelphia. I always learn something from the blogger. However, it is still very unclear as to who started the FIRST dept.. I think I'll check with my brother to get the TRUE story on that one.
