COLONIALS WIN A CLOSE ONE

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team needed a extra inning last night to beat the Hopewell Blue Devils 3-2 in the 8th. Phillip Griffith picked up the win on the mound going the distance for the Colonials striking out 9 and just allowing 3 hits, with win he improves to 3-1 on the season. Offensively the Colonials were lead by Brett Draper who went 3-3 with a game winning HR in the top of the 8th and J.D. McCarty who went 1-2 with a 2 run HR. With the win the Colonials improve to 6-2 on the season and 2-0 in the CD, next up for the Colonials is a home game with Thomas Dale tomorrow night at 6pm. Thomas Dales game was washed out yesterday and they will play Dinwiddie today. The Colonial Heights girls soccer team beat Hopewell 3-0 last night and the CH boys soccer team also beat Hopewell 2-0, I don't have a softball score from yesterday. The NHL playoffs do start tonight and my favorite team the NY Rangers plays game 1 of there series at New Jersey. My PAIN index is a little better this morning because we won yesterday but I still have numerous issues effecting me. In a bit of news from Georgia Scottie won the pole vaulting competition at the Crawford County track meet yesterday, he also came in 4th place in the two mile beating about 16 other runners. MICKEY
