THE MORE I THINK ABOUT IT THE MADDER I GET

The situation that I am talking about is the use of Shepherd Stadium, for some reason there are a couple of individuals within the recreation department who think they own the place.  There is no reason that we couldn't practice up there yesterday, every other team in our district was practicing outdoors while we are in the gym or the cage.  For crying out large baseball field and what are you suppose to do on a baseball field play baseball, sure the place is nice play but if you can't use it it does us no good.  Then here in a few weeks they are going to rent the stadium out it non residents of the city for an AAU Tournament where they play about 10 games in 2 days on the filed like thats not going to tear up the field but we can't practice on it.  This has been an ongoing battle with the recreation department for the last 7 or 8 years and I have to say that it is getting bit old.  These individuals need realize if they need the school system for the use of there buildings as much as they need the facilities that they have to use, without the use of the gyms there would be no recreational basketball program in the city and probably wouldn't be any recreational football program either.  Maybe the school system should say if it rains there will be no recreational basketball programs that day as well and maybe they will get the message. Also if there will be times where the trash at the stadium where the trash isn't dumped for weeks and yet they don't want us to leave trash in the dugouts, well where are we going to put it if the trash cans are full.  We have had a toilet in locker room that has been leaking for years and half the time won't flush so you cant use it and the problem still hasn't been fixed.  I am not trying to offend anybody but I think something needs to be done about thats for sure.  Well I guess I will get off my rant now, the Virginia baseball team improved to 4-0 on the season yesterday with a 10-1 win over East Carolina.  Virginia pitcher Danny Hultzen was dominating in his performance yesterday pitching 7 innings striking out 15 and only allowing 3 hits in the victory.  The Cavs and Pirates will play game 2 of there series this afternoon.  MICKEY

I agree with the blog master's assessment of the Shepherd Stadium situation.

Maybe the Athletic Director should check the agreement between the School Board & Rec. Dept.
