A VERY LONG DAY

I have to say yesterday was a very long day at work and after work as well. First off yesterday at work I headed down to the South Boston area and it rained the entire day and it was bit on the cool side I got soaked. We made it back to Richmond around 4pm which wasn't to bad but that is where my problems really began. On my way home there was a wreck on I-95 south between 2 tractor trailers and a pick up truck which shut down 95 all together and I didn't move a foot for 2 hours. Needless to say I was a bit frustrated as were several other hundreds of people and to top it off it was raining pretty hard as well. Down at the beach this storm is really causing some pretty bad beach erosion, I will post some pictures from down there later today and it appears the power is out in several down there as well. I still need Andrew and Murph's picks, everybody else's picks are in. Try to stay dry. MICKEY

Take a walk
A great way to stop fretting about the upcoming events is to focus on the present. Wake up just 15 minutes earlier than normal, throw on your sneakers (stay in your pajamas, who cares), and walk around your neighborhood. It sounds corny, but by appreciating your surroundings and noticing the way you are breathing or paying attention to your footsteps will take your mind off everything else.

WAYS TO BEAT A COLD
1: Walk fast. New research has shown that walking briskly will help keep a cold at bay by increasing your immunity. But don't run (you'll get sick if you overexert yourself), and if you have anything more than the sniffles, you best stay in bed.

2: Don't blow. When your nose is all stuffed up, blowing both nostrils at the same time can propel mucus up into your sinuses, which could possibly cause further infection. Um, yecch. Instead, take decongestants or blow one nostril at a time.
