PACKERS & RESDKINS WIN

I have to say I didn't have much faith in either Packers or the Redskins winning yesterday but both of them were able to come away with victories. The Packers beat the always hated Dallas Cowboys 17-7 and I have to say the Packer defense played there best game of the season en route to the win. The Redskins beat the Broncos yesterday 27-17, the Broncos were leading 17-14 when there starting QB was knocked out of the game at the half and the Bronco's offense just couldn't get on track with there backup QB. In college football action lat night East Carolina beat Tulsa 44-17. Tonight in high school football action the CH Colonials will finish out there season at home against Hopewell while down at the beach both First Flight & Manteo have home playoff games. Jimmie Johnson won yesterdays Nascar race at Phoenix and Jeff Burton finished 2nd, with the win Johnson just about wrapped up it's 4th consecutive championship. My Pain will be on the rise probably later today because I played some full court basketball last night as part of our baseball conditioning. MICKEY

GRAPEFRUIT
Benefit: Weight loss
Substitutes: Oranges, watermelon, tomatoes

Just call it the better-body fruit. In a study of 100 obese people at the Scripps Clinic in California, those who ate half a grapefruit with each meal lost an average of 3.6 pounds over the course of 12 weeks, and some lost as many as 10 pounds. The study’s control group, in contrast, lost a paltry 1/2 pound. But here’s something even better: Those who ate the grapefruit also exhibited a decrease in insulin levels, indicating that their bodies had improved their ability to metabolize sugar. If you can't stomach a grapefruit-a-day regime, try to find as many ways possible to sneak grapefruit into your diet. Even a moderate increase in grapefruit intake should yield results, not to mention earn you a massive dose of lycopene—the cancer-preventing antioxidant found most commonly in tomatoes.
Bonus tip: Eat well and you’ll feel younger and more vibrant. Add exercise to the mix and you’ll practically erase markers of age.

You can’t find your keys/wallet/phone/sunglasses? Nothing is more annoying than searching for lost objects when you’re running late. Designate a place in your house for your key items, and put those things in that spot, every time. I keep everything important in my (extremely unfashionable) backpack, and fortunately a backpack is big enough that it’s always easy to find.
