COLONIALS BACK IN ACTION TODAY, UVA HAS A BAD DAY

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team returns to the field today for it's final tuneup before Wednesday season opener against Meadowbrook. Today the Colonials will play the Henrico Warriors at 3pm at Shepherd Stadium. Also today the Thomas Dale Knights will have there final scrimmage as well at 11am when the play the Maggie Walker Governors School. Hopefully both teams will have all there kinks worked out before there opening games next week. The Virginia Cavaliers had a bad day on the basketball court and the diamond as well yesterday. The Cavalier basketball team blew a 14 point halftime lead and fell to the NC State Wolfpack 79-71, there is no reason they should have lost this game. The Wolfpack will play Virginia Tech in tonight in the semi-finals, Tech beat Wake Forest last night 71-52, the other semi-final game has UNC vs Boston College. On the baseball field Wake Forest knocked off the Cavaliers 8-3 ending UVA's winning streak at 13, the same two teams will play again today and Sunday. The Richmond Renegades fell to the worst team in the league last night 6-3, it may have been the worst game they have played all year, I don't think there was a single player on the team that played well. The Gades are home again tonight against the Fayetteville FireAntz and if the play like they did last night this one could be very ugly. Kasey Kahne captured the pole for this weeks Nextel Cup race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Don't forget to set your clocks forward 1 hour tonight when you go to bed and check those batteries in your smoke detectors. MICKEY
