UPSET SATURDAY

I cannot remember when there were as many upsets of top ranked teams in college football as there were yesterday. The first upset of the day was Georgia pounding #5 Auburn 37-15 at Auburn, the second one of the day was Arizona beating #8 California 24-20 and the final big upset of the day was Kansas St beating #4 Texas 45-42. Don't forget #3 Louisville had already lost 28-25 to Rutgers on Thursday. It looks like there will be a big shakeup in the BCS standings. Also in college football yesterday East Carolina beat Marshall 33-20 and how about those Wake Forest Demon Deacons pounding Florida State 30-0. Wake Forest will play Virginia Tech next weekend at home. The UVA basketball team opens it's season tonight against #10 Arizona at the new John Paul Jones Arena. Today in the NFL the Redskins play at Philadelphia and the Packers play at Minnesota. The Richmond Renegades had a tough night last night losing to the Huntsville Havoc 6-4, it appeared the Gades were a step behind the Havoc all night and the score really doesn't indicate how much Huntsville dominated the game. The Nextel Cup Series is a Phoenix this afternoon with Jeff Gordon on the pole, Matt Kenseth won yesterday's Busch race at Phoenix. I have posted a couple of photos that I took this morning here in CH, as you can tell it looks like it is going to be a messy day. I have also posted a link to the photos that AL took at the Colonial Heights and Meadowbrook football game. MICKEY

Prestretch routines
Do you know the one thing you should always do before stretching? To prevent injury you should perform at least 10-15 minutes of cardiovascular exercise (walking, biking) prior to stretching. Never stretch a "cold muscle" -- one that does not have sufficient blood flowing through the tissue to be stretched.
