VIRGINIA BEATS WILLIAM & MARY 40-3

The Virginia Cavaliers played a little sloppy in the 1st half before turning it on in the 2nd half in routing William & Mary 40-3 in front front of 52,000 at Scott Stadium.  The Cavs appear to be a much quicker team on both sides of the ball and that's mainly because of all the freshman and red shirt freshman who made there debut last night.  The Cavs defense really shut down the Tribe and offensively both of the Cavs quarterbacks played pretty solid for the most part.  Next week the Cavaliers travel to Indiana to face the Hoosiers.  The East Carolina Pirates didn't fair as well against the South Carolina Gamecocks falling 56-37, the Pirates lead at the half 24-14 and it doesn't get any easier for the Pirates when they face Virginia Tech.  How about those Richmond Spiders upsetting the Duke Blue Devils last night 23-21, Duke may not want to schedule the Spiders anymore because they have beating them the last two times they have faced them.  I am tallying up the results of the 1st week of the college football contest and I will be sending out the standings after week 1 and next weeks game a little later this morning.  Carl Edwards won last nights Nationwide race at Atlanta holding Kyle Busch for the win, Kasey Kahne will be on the pole for tonight's Sprint Cup race.  MICKEY
