Down at the beach East Duplin beat First Flight 49-30 while Manteo beat Southside 40-27 and will play Plymouth next in the 3rd round of the NC 1a football playoffs. Points leader Denny Hamlin had a rough day at Homestead yesterday qualifying 38th while Jimmie Johnson will start from the 8th spot, Kevin Harvick who is 3rd in the standings will start 28th. Last night down in Georgia Scottie started off his wrestling season with 2 wins, he will be back in action on Monday night. It looks like the crowds are starting to pick up a little bit down in Wal-Mart on Saturday morning since we are in home stretch to Christmas. MICKEY

Keep perspective. Ask yourself: “Will this matter in a month? In a year?

It’s a cliché, but things really will look brighter in the morning. Go to bed early and start the next day anew. Also, sleep deprivation puts a drag on mood in the best of circumstances, so a little extra sleep will do you good.
