ALABAMA WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Alabama Crimson Tide won the BCA Championship game last night defeating the Texas Longhorns 37-21 last night at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Any chance of a Texas win pretty much ended when Colt McCoy was injured in the 1st quarter last night and Texas had to go to Freshman backup QB who hasn't played very much at all. Also last nights game also proves once again that the SEC is the best conference in college football. I will release the official results of the Mickey's Place College Football Contest tomorrow morning, Keith won the contest followed by Lee and yours truly. In high school basketball action last night the Thomas Dale girls team beat Colonial Heights 80-27, tonight the CH boys will travel to Dale. I have to say that the weatherman were right when they said that we are just going to get a dusting of snow because thats all we got here in Colonial Heights and it should be gone by this afternoon and thats the way I like it. Think strategically. Don't wait until you're ready to eat your hand to decide what you're going to snack on. Healthy eating starts in the supermarket. Make a list of go-to healthy snacks you can grab in a pinch. Then, stock your fridge, pantry, and office with them.

And when you eat something, savor it. Stop working, reading, or watching TV, and focus on the taste, smell, and texture of what you're having -- one small morsel at a time.

Skip through the commercials
Get off your duff and move during your favorite TV shows. Skip, dance, go up and down some stairs, run in place—anything that gets your heart rate up so you feel somewhat breathless, says Geralyn Coopersmith, senior national manager at Equinox Fitness. Do it for each 2-minute break (forget the TiVo) during a typical 2-hour TV night and you'll burn an extra 270 calories a day—which can translate to a 28-pound weight loss in a year.

“It’s All In A State Of Mind”
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t,
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
It’s almost a “cinch” you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost,
For out in the world you find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all in the state of mind.
Full many a race is lost
Ere ever a step is run;
And many a coward fails
Ere ever his work’s begun.
Think big and your deeds will grow,
Think small and you’ll fall behind,
Think that you can and you will;
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you’re outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later, the man who wins,
Is the fellow who thinks he can.
