PHILLIES TTAKE GAME 1

The Philadelphia Phillies took game 1 the World Series last night 6-1 over the Yankees, they will play game 2 tonight in New York. I have to say I didn't sleep very well at all last night, I think I woke up every hour on the hour and I am tired this morning. I do have everybody's picks for this week college football pick em contest and have sent them out, tonight the 1st game of the contest features North Carolina at Virginia Tech. Well we didn't have baseball camp yesterday because the field was to wet from all the rain we had Monday night and Tuesday. It's going to be a little cooler today here in CH with highs in the mid 60's but by Saturday is going to be back around 80. MICKEY

Give it Away
Between the leftover candy you were distributing and the haul your kids brought back with them, your kitchen counter might look like a little candy store. A very tempting candy store. Let everyone choose a few pieces of their favorites, and then get rid of it by donating to a local food bank, foster care center, senior center, homeless shelter, or even send it to the troops.

The idea with Halloween is to relish in this sugar-coated holiday, but not go totally nuts with sugar. Let everyone celebrate and enjoy the fun with costumes, decorations, or even a special Halloween dinner with warm apple cider, instead of embarking on a sugar high.

And remember, one peanut butter cup tastes just the same as the ten additional ones you were considering eating.

Energy Zapper #3: Being Bored
Ever sat around for an hour or more not tackling a chore or work because it's just so darned monotonous? Mental foot-dragging, boredom and lack of motivation are draining, says Dr. Salerno. "Put simply, we like to see results, and getting things done gives us a mental energy boost." So avoiding tasks deprives you of that high.

Energy Fix
Find a partner for encouragement--a friend, a coworker--and call or e-mail to enlist her in a time challenge. "Say, ‘I'll check back in with you in an hour, and we'll see if we've gotten these reports/ organizing chores done.'" Or promise yourself motivational rewards for completing the task at hand, suggests Dr. Salerno.
