Well you had better enjoy todays weather in the mid 70's because it is going to go down hill for the rest of the week. After today high in the mid 70's is going to be in the mid 50's for highs the rest of the week during the day and the 40's at night and there is a better than 50% chance of rain through Friday. Round to of the MLB playoffs are now set after the Phillies beat the Rockies 3 games to 1, round 2 will have Phillies facing the Dodgers in the NL and the Yankees facing the Angels in the AL. Well because of rain last night and the impending rain on Wednesday there will be now baseball camp this week. Me Ma Ruth is still at SRMC, they are suppose to run another test on her today. Also fellow blogger Keith in down in Georgia this week, he is in Augusta but I don't think he is there to play golf, he is on official government business. My truck is in the shop today for an oil change and I have caution light on the dashboard as well so I figured I had better take it in for some service. So far the entries for this weeks college football contest have been coming in very slow, I guess everybody was celebrating Columbus Day. MICKEY

Know the Lingo
The supermarket flyer offers a bonanza of savings, if you know how to read between the lines. You usually don’t have to buy as much as you think to get the deal. Say your store flyer advertises 10 Breyers yogurts for $4; that’s 40¢ apiece. As long as it doesn’t say must buy 10, you can buy any amount and still get the savings.

The same holds true with coupons. If you have some that offer a discount off a multiple-item purchase, don’t assume you have to pick up an extra or two from the shelf. Look for bundled products. For instance, if you have a Colgate coupon for $1 off two tubes of toothpaste and spot a bundle pack of two tubes, grab it. Most of the time the coupon will cover the 2-in- 1 pack. And generally speaking, the bundle pack is a better savings.

Used Bath Towels
Do you share a bath towel with your hubby or kids? It may sound like a good idea, but health experts say it’s a big no-no. “I remind my patients that even though it seems like sharing bath towels among family members is no big deal, and good for the environment, it’s actually an unhealthy practice,” says Susan C. Taylor, MD, community editor for BeWell.com.

“MRSA, a dangerous staph infection that is resistant to many antibiotics, can be spread by sharing towels with your husband, even your kids,” she says. “Research also indicates that bacteria that can cause acne can also be spread among family members from towel sharing. It’s also a good idea to replace hand towels in the bathroom frequently.”
