HEADING TO UVA TODAY

Well I am going to do my best today to see if I can change the fortunes of the Virgina Cavalier football team when they play host to the TCU Horned Frogs today. It sure won't be easy though because TCU comes into the game ranked #16 in the country but the Cavs can't play any worst than they did last week thats for sure. There could be an upset in Charlottesville today. The East Carolina Pirates will be at West Virginia today to face the Mountaineers, since ECU upset them last year in Greenville I think the Pirates are going to have a tough time beating them today. The Georgia Bulldogs will be at home today to face the Old Ball Coach and South Carolina Gamecocks, I think it will be a close game but the Bulldogs will win. I have posted all the high school football scores interest in my previous entry to Mickey's Place. Carl Edwards won last nights Nationwide race at Richmond, it was a bit of boring race. Mark martin will start on the pole for tonights Sprint Cup race, Martin edged Martin Truex Jr for the top spot. Well they didn't have any donuts at Wal-Mart this morning so I had to drive all the way Hopewell to the Dunkin Donuts. I have to say the donuts are a little cheaper here than they are at the beach. Trying to fit in - attempting to gain acceptance from our peers is natural. But this harmless attempt at praise can quickly backfire, ultimately diminishing not only your motivation but your spirit as well. Avoid forfeiting your uniqueness through unwittingly seeking praise through sameness. Remember, sometimes a search for a pat on the back can result in a swift quick in the rear.

Jump-Rope. This activity usually associated with elementary schoolgirls is actually a great cardiovascular workout that will help build muscle endurance over time. A good-quality jump-rope costs $20 or less, and can be easily transported in your purse or suitcase. Start with 5 minutes a session, three times a week, and eventually work your way up to jump-roping for 20 to 30 minutes a session.

Challenge or defeat?
When you're willing to accept challenge you won't have to accept defeat. Instead of throwing up your hands in defeat when things go wrong, look at the situation from a different perspective. See it as a challenge to be overcome.

Your attitude makes all the difference. Winners and losers are distinguished not by the circumstances they face, but by the way they face them. Losers think "I've been defeated." Winners think "I've been challenged."

Challenges are painful, inconvenient, and uncomfortable. They demand your time, your effort and your energy. And they make you stronger as a result.

Rather than accept defeat, see the challenge. Put the best that you have into getting past that challenge. It's easy to be a victim, but that won't get you anywhere. Be a victor instead, by accepting and transcending each challenge that comes your way.
