FIRST IT WAS FOOTBALL AND NOW BASKETBALL

Well first it was football and now it's basketball, the Virginia Cavaliers continue to lose to teams that they have no business losing to. In the San Juan Shootout UVA fell to Appalachian St. 80-69 and the score should have been much worst, the Cavs were really bever in this game, the Mountaineers lead the entire game. The Cavs are now 6-2 and with both there losses coming away from Charlottesville, it seams like a familiar theme developing with basketball team they can't win away from home. They will have to rebound from a bad loss this afternoon when they play Utah. The Colonial Heights Holiday Invitational starts tonight, the host team the Colonials will play West End Christian at 7:45pm in boys basketball action. In NCAA football action last night in the Poinsettia Bowl TCU beat Northern Illinois 37-7. It is a bit cool here in CH this morning after temps in the upper 70's Monday this morning it is a cool 28. I have posted a photo of Mickey's Place most wanted and it's a photo blogger Gary who has been missing in action for over a month. MICKEY

Lose 15 lbs. this year
One important change in your lunchtime routine can make all the difference. In one study, women who ate at least five restaurant/takeout meals a week took in almost 300 more calories a day than women who ate out less often, with a larger proportion of calories from fat. Over a year's time, those calories can add up to an extra 15 - 20 pounds. Try bringing lunch from home -- not only will it help you lose weight, but it'll fatten your wallet by cutting down on expenses!

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

Well it's like the calm before the Christmas storm here in Colonial Heights. Mom is dong allot of cooking, dad is doing allot of cleaning and I have wrapped allot of presents getting ready for big family Christmas Eve get together here at the house. I did have to go down to the mall are yesterday and there were allot of people looking for the last minute gifts and I have got a feeling that it is going to get really bad down there on Friday and Saturday. In case you didn't notice I have added a Christmas clock at the top of the page just to get all you bloggers in the Christmas spirit. The UVA basketball team will be in action today in the San Juan Shootout against the Appalachian St. Mountaineers at 4pm. Last night in Monday night football the Colts beat the Bengals 34-16. I might have to switch the blogger over to a Beta version of blogger which might cause some minor changes. Blogger is now owned by Google and they are switching everything to a Beta version, so far they are giving you the option on whether you want to switch or not but I got a feeling in the future that they are going to make you switch to the new version. They say the new version is better but so far I have been reluctant to switch, what do yawl think, should I make the switch over. MICKEY

CHRISTMAS JUST ONE WEEK AWAY

Well next week at this time it will be Christmas day. I don't know about everybody else but it seems that this year has really flown by. I did go into the mall area yesterday afternoon, it was strictly an eat and get out of the area mission. In the NFL yesterday both the Green Bay Packers and Washington Redskins picked up victories, the Redskins beat the Saints 16-10 and the Packers beat the Lions 17-9. I will be glad win the new year comes in, I am tired of looking at re-runs of all the TV shows that I watch. I have posted another old photo from the past of Keith opening up his new phone on Christmas morning, I would say that this photo was taken back in the early 70's. Also the college bowl season starts tomorrow with the Poinsettia Bowl between Northern Illinois and TCU. Also dad says his eyes are now back to normal after looking at the photo Scott sent. MICKEY

RENEGADES LOSE AGAIN, VIRGINIA WINS AGAIN

Well the Richmond Renegades went down south this weekend for a pair of games and apparently there offense has also gone south. After losing 6-1 to Columbus on Friday night the Gades lost to Jacksonville last night 3-1. If you only score one goal a night you are not going to win to many games in this league, the Gades simply don't have enough offensive power. In the Game Mat Goody got into three fights earning him an ejection and Goody now leads the league in PIMS with 123 in 10 games. The Gades road trip continues next weekend against the Florida Seals and the Fayetteville FireAntz. The Virginia basketball team picked up another win yesterday beating the Hampton Pirates 91-69 at the JPJ Arena, the Cavs are now 6-1 and will play Appalachian St. on Tuesday in the San Juan Shootout. UVA coach Dave Leitao was ejected with 4:43 left in the 1st half for protesting a call. The Cavs are now 10-0 with Keith at the the JPJ Arena and 3-0 with Andrew in attendance at the JPJ Arena. Today in the NFL the Detroit will visit Green Bay and the Redskins will play at New Orleans, both games kickoff at 1pm. Well Christmas Eve is just one from today, so if you haven't finished up all your shopping yet time is running out. MICKEY

If they were still in the ECHL there would be at least three players suspended and probably the coach as well. Well I am off to work. MICKEY

I went see the CH girls basketball team knock off the EVIL EMPIRE last night 54-47, it was a pretty close game all the way with biggest lead for CH being 8 points and TD did lead the game several times but the Colonials were able to pull it out down the stretch. The Colonials are now 4-2 on the season and the CH boys team will be at TD tonight. It looks like we are going to be getting a little rain here in Colonial Heights today and with the rain the temps will not get out of the upper 50's, but after today it looks like it is going mild an in the lower 60's threw Tuesday. I didn't sleep very well last night, after sleeping well for the last 3 or 4 nights last night I just tossed and turned all night. Then around 3:30am on I-95 south just south of Ellerslie Ave a Fed-Ex truck turned over when the driver lost control, for the next 25 minutes it sounded like they were having a Christmas parade behind the house. The driver of the Fed-Ex truck was not seriously injured but he told police that he simply fell asleep and he was cited for reckless driving.
